im looking for the reason this certain pill is used.its a maroon colored shaped capsule and says wyeth 261 on it.can any1 help????????

This is what I found out and you may want to do more search on it too. Wyeth is the Manufacturer. The pill you are looking for is called Mepergan Fortis and it is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. Look in this Web site under Wyeth as imprint and move to I think page 2. Then if you see that it is the same pill, go to your web browser on your computer and punch in the name I just gave you and it will lead you to new links to research this pill.

Mepergan Fortis contains meperidine 50 mg and promethazine 25 mg. It's a narcotic (meperdine) pain pill combined with promethazine, a drug that helps control nausea.
