Question My puppy ate 2 of these-HELP!

Hi-I'm new here,as of today. My dad died 3 months ago and I was going thru boxes of his stuff and came across a prescription bottle with 10 tablets in it . I opened it,looked at them and put them aside . I got a phone call-and when I came back, my new Golden Lab puppy had the bottle and they were all over the fllor. I pried one out of his muth, and there were 2 missing! The lable on the bottle is water damaged(I can't make any of it out) the pills are white, sort of an oblong oval shape, fairly good sized,(but not "horse pills")and they are imprinted with the #608 on one side, and #86 on the flip side. They have a line thru them, like they could be split in half. My dad died of cancer, and I know he was on some powerful pain meds. I called my vet,and she told me to watch him close for 24 hrs. So far he seems OK. Would anybody have any clue what these pills are? I Even called a local pharmacy, and the Pharmacist had no idea,he said I should throw them away. My little dog could be in danger, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
