Default Identify contenst of Lotrel

I take Lotrel 5/40 for high blood pressure. I know that Lotrel 5/40 is a combination of amlodipine 5mg and benazepril 40mg. I have been researching the side effects of each of these medications as well as their generic availability.

If I open a Lotrel capsule, it contains a white powder and a small round white pill with a 4 stamped on one side and nothing on the other side. I would like to know which medication is the powder and which medication is the small white pill?

Thank for your assistance.

I have no idea, I would compare the contents to a different strength pill by the same mfr, then try and draw a conclusion. This is a better question to be answered by your pharmacist or ask Novartis directly. The answer may be "neither". Interesting though.
