Robo, this is a very interesting topic and one I've often wondered about.
The white round 512 pill has always elicited a lot of comment. I know rxlist.com states it is
Cipro. I assumed it was a typo because there was no generic for
ciprofloxacin in the US until about nine months ago. I think Barr was the first with the exclusivity period.
Yet a credible poster on another board insisted '512' was precribed to him as Cipro well before Barr introduced the generic. At the time I thought "Okay, it's available in other countries but not in the US so maybe the poster is from another country."
I never got an answer about the country. But I do agree with you. The "Miles" was probably left off of the rxlist imprint. I think Miles was a Canadian company.

And I'm sure it's not the same as the Mallinckrodt '512' pill.
