    Default Equate Allergy Multi-Symptom

I needed identification of a white oval pill (caplet) with an L476 imprint. I did not find it here but was able to identify it, so I thought I would share.

It is labeled for sale by WalMart as Equate Allergy Multi-Symptom, a generic for Tylenol Allergy Multi-Symptom.

I believe the new product was designed to be a non-pseudoephedrine replacement for Tylenol Allergy Sinus.

One source says the old product contains:
    ► acetaminophen 500 mg
    ► chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg
    ► pseudoephedrine HCl 30 mg

According to the label, the new product contains:
► acetaminophen 325 mg (pain reliever)
► chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg (antihistamine)
► phenylephrine HCl 5 mg (nasal decongestant)

The recommended dosage for the new product, 12 yrs and over, is 2 caplets every 4-6 hrs, not to exceed 12 caplets in 24 hrs.
