Default Crooked Pharmacist? Please Help Identifiy

It seems that I may have stumbled upon a crooked employee at my local Rite Aid. Last week I filled my prescription for Hydrocodone 7.5-750. Today I let one sit in my mouth a little longer and noticed a different taste. After inspecting the pills I noticed that they were very smooth compared to the normal chaulky type and they were unmarked except for the the indent bar in the center. Note: These pills look just like the normal vicodin. When I went to the store, the technician said that they were not the correct prescription and did not know what they were except that it could be a vitamin? She said she would look into things and call me after investigating. However, she re-filled my presciption and said she would make a report. When I came home....I counted them and realized that I was 11 short. I called them back and the technician assured me that she counted them twice and that I should have the complete 60. As of right now she is going to have the pharmacy manager call me on Monday. Can anyone tell me what the mystery pills might have been / what appropriate action I should be taking?

For real? This doesn't happen very often, I'm shocked. No, there's no way to say what those pills are. You need to file a written complaint with the pharm mgr, then file a complaint with the state licensing board, the pharmacist should lose her license, that is unethical. Don't wait for them to call you.

Yes, I am shocked too the more I think about it. The pharmacy manager is suppose to call me Monday so I will wait for an explanation. If any. I have a friend that works as a pharmacy tech that said most of the chain stores have surveillance cameras that could possibly shed some light on this. He also said that I might think about filing a police report. After reading your response to my other post " All Rx and OTC drugs in the US are required by law to have an imprint, otherwise it could be a vitamin, herbal, energy, diet, foreign or illicit." I am starting to think that this was definitely an intentional mistake. It is just hard to believe that this could be done. It is my understanding that vicodin and all of the other narcotic prescriptions are monitered very closely so this does not happen.
