Hi!
I found in another forum the following reply to a query regarding a small white tablet inscribed with "A 283":
Quote:
"According to Able's customer service, the pill is 300 mg lithium extended-release tabIet."
The "A" marking is definitely used by Able Laboratories (
www.ablelabs.com). If the above info is correct, the tablet could be Able's generic Lithium Carbonate 300 mg Extended Release Tablets (therapeutically equivalent to branded Lithobid 300 mg Slow-Release Tablets). If so, it's an antimanic agent, used to treat manic depression. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by a doctor.
Strongly suggest you contact Able for confirmation of the marking: Try (908) 754-2253. If it checks out, information on "Lithium Carbonate" can be searched on Drugs.com
