I started taking
zocor last jan. or feb.It dropped my colesterol from 315 to 185.Which is great, but in March During a sparring session in Tae Kwon Do I was kicked on my lf. hand, an sprained 3 fingers. Now this kind of thing happens from time to time an I thought nothing of it,except it seemed like every time I would spar after that,I would sprain another finger ,or re-sprain the other 3.After about a month of rest and trying to protect my fingers the problem was not going away.I called my Dr.an he had me stop the Z.an x-ray my hands(nothing,Maybe a hint of arthritis-I'm 51)so he had me taking Glucosamine. Now 2 months later my colesterol is 285,every time I even litely bump my hands I sprain a finger.I am frustrated,an alittle nervous about muscle degeneration. My Dr. tells me that I'm getting old, an I am very active(I build rock waterfalls for work,Train in Tae Kwon Do,an skydive 4-5 jumps every weekend),so my body is wearing out.The colesterol has to be dealt with so I am now on Vytorin 10/20.I would like to know if anyone is familar with the side effects of Zocor,an if it sounds like I am experencing the rare but serious muscle degeneration associated with Zocor.
