My father recently got some generic Ziac 5 mg tablets. His Doctor wrote him a script for 10 mg and wanted him to start taking the 10 mg, but my dad thought it would be better to continue taking the 5 mg tablets, because he felt a result by taking the 5 mg, instead of having to take the 10 mg. But my question is, would it hurt him to take the 10 mg and just cut them in half?? Or should Ziac pills not be cut in half at all??b][/b]

Do not cut the Ziac tabs. Each strength of Ziac contains the same amount of HCTZ (i.e. 2.5/6.25, 5/6.25, 10/6.25). If you cut them in half, you are halfing the hctz dose.
