Default vytorin taken with lovastatin

my doctor just changed my vytorin prescription from 10/20mg once a day to 10/40mg once a day. i still have a 90 day supply of 10/20mg vytorin along with a 90 day supply of 20mg lovastatin that i was taking before he switched me over to vytorin. can i take one of the 10/20 vytorin tablets along with one of the 20mg tablets of the lovastatin each day until that supply is used up so i want have to throw it away or is there a risk of drug interaction when mixing vytorin and lovastatin?
