I am a 20 yr. old male that suffers from epilepsy and bad acne. I take Dilantin for my epilepsy and have been subscribed Sotret for my acne. However, after 5 months, the Sotret still hasn't cleared up my acne, even though it was promised to work after 2-3 months at a maximum. Is there any possibility that the Dilantin is causing or compounding my acne problems?

If your acne has not cleared up by now, you need to let your doctor know. It is possible that the Dilantin (generic name phenytoin) may be the cause, and that the "acne" is actually a drug rash.
