Default coughing up blood

my friend recently had part of his lung removed due to cancer.he has recently been coughing up dark blood and we was wondering what might be causing this to happen

Are you kidding me??? If I had part of my lung removed from a cancer surgery and was throwing up blood I am pretty sure I would be calling the dr's answering service and telling them to call the dr at home. NO ONE here is qualified to tell you anything about this. You need to speak with your dr immediately. There could be very serious ramifications in ignoring internal bleeding. Good luck.
