Default amiodarone

I understand that this drug can cause lung damage among other things. Is the damage permanent or will it repair itself if the drug is not taken anymore? Thanks

Amiodarone may cause pneumonitis as a side effect, but remission usually takes place after withdrawal of the drug. Steroid therapy may be used to treat pmeumonitis for severe cases.

However, if pulmonary fibrosis occurs, the damage is not likely to be repaired because the fibrosis process is rather irreversible.
