Unhappy Safety Of Cyproheptadine In Cats

My cat is 15 years old and has many health problems. We give her methimazole for thyroid, buprenorphine hydrochloride injection for pain, flagyl to aid digestion, adequan, one a month, and enulose for a laxative.
The VET has now added a 1/4 tab of a 4mg tab of cyproheptadine, twice a day to increase her weight. She eats mushy food but I have to offer her the food every 15 minutes to eat. She seems happy, plays like a kitten! I'm wondering if she is over medicated and how safe all the drugs are. She is a member of the family and I have the time to devote to her. My question are all the drugs safe for her? Her quality of life has improved on them as she use to sleep all day and never played. She even at 15 enjoys going in the car and is very social.
Any e-mail with your thoughts would be very helpful.
