I'm not sure if I'm in the right place, but I'll post my problem here anyway.
My ordinary medication dose (for Schizo-Affective Disorder) is:
900mg Quilonum bidaily
10mg Olanzapine nightly
Recently my doctor decided to change me to
Abilify (30mg), with a swapover period with the Olanzapine.
At roughly the same time as changing over to Abilify, I started taking some cold and flu night/day tablets, with disasterous results.
The day flu tablets contain:
Paracetemol - 500mg
Pseudoephidrine Hydrochloride- 30mg
Codeine Phosphate - 6mg
The night flu tablets contain:
Paracetemol - 500mg
Pseudoephidrine Hydrochloride- 30mg
Triprolodine Hydrochloride - 1.25mg
I suffered all sorts of problems almost immediately with this cocktail including mild but uncomfortable psychosis, and have ceased taking the flu medication and the abilify. However, I get bad side effects every time I take my original medication.
I don't see my doctor for another four days, and am wondering if anyone can explain to me what has gone wrong, and how long I can expect my normal medications to give me unwanted side effects.
btw, the cold & flu tablets were recommended by my pharmacist after I explained the medication I was taking, but there is a warning on the packet for ppl taking anti depressents.....?
I appreciate any help
