I Need Advice

I don't have insurance right now and there is something wrong with my knee I think it is some form of arthritis because it always happens during weather change. It only occurs in my knees and is so painful that for the last 3 days I have only slept 2 hours. Everytime I go to the doctors at $100 dollars a crack they perscribe either an anti-inflamatory or Tramadal and they never work at all. This has been going on for years but I used to think it was from narcotic withdrawls. I no longer abuse painkillers or any drug, so I know something is wrong. The only thing that works is narcotic pain killers. I DON"T EVEN WANT ALOT. I only need about 10 vicodan a month. I just can't find a doctor that will listen to me all they do is refer me to a specialist that I just can't afford. I can kinda understand because I'm only 26yrs old but I can't take it much more. I am prescribed to Klonopin and when I can't sleep because of this pain I end up abusing those just to sleep, I then run out of Klonopins early. I live in the Denver area. Any advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks to all!

[FONT="Comic Sans MSI suffer from pain every day and try not to take my pain medication unless I absolutely have to. I take Hydrocodone 10/500, Oxycodone 20 mg., Soma 350 mg. These are 2 very strong pain killers and the last one is a muscle relaxer. Sometimes the pain gets so bad, I can't sit, stand or do much of anything except take medicine and go back to bed and cover up. Sometimes I can't sleep but 3 or 4 hours a night when the pain is above 6+ or higher.

Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't depending on the humidity level outside or cold temperatures inside or out.

When I can't get the pain killers to work, I use Icy Hot Patches on my back or where ever the pain seems to be coming from.

You might try thse patches or some other cheap brand. There is also a lotion called Aspercreme that doesn't have any odor to it and this also works pretty good for pain.

Are you a Veteran capable of using the VA Healthcare System by any chance, tyloxrox?
