Default Xanax, Effexor, Lithium

Xanax supposed to treat anxiety, sleep deprivation, obsessive disorders and so on. I have found a "pharmacist" that "prescribed" me Xanax and it helped my extreme paranoia and sleep deprivation. I have also noticed I am not doing the same things over and over [too embarrassing to say online] obsessively during the day. Over the counter medicines absolutely do not help put me to sleep, let alone make me tired. After taking Xanax I am able to sleep just fine after a couple minutes of being in bed without changing positions constantly for about two hours. I've called the sleep hotline and they've told me to find different positions also (which I've been trying forever before that). The pill did not leave me groggy in the morning, but if I don't take them, I am left that way. The person in question sold them to me as I was "expecting to get [messed] up on them" like others who were at the party have been. I however, didn't feel anything they felt except just life being better to live. I have been taking one 2MG bar a day and I do not get the "drunk" symptom, but even at 2MG I don't think it is enough because I still feel people are talking behind my back at any place I go, despite whether I know them or not. Under these circumstances, would a doctor prescribe me Xanax, Lithium or Effexor? Or would I just have to continue self-prescribing myself them at outrageous prices ($7 to $17 a pill)?

I used to take xanax for fun but lately started using it to treat anxiety and panic disorders. If I were you I'd see a doctor and avoid it all together! It's so hard to get off of...it can take months and screw up your nervous system and chemistry...this is an evil drug!

I've never intended to take Xanax for fun. I know I have a problem and I've had it for years. My mother even called the doctors to make an appointment for my obsessive compulsive disorder about a year and half ago but I was too embarrassed to go in.

How interesting...I have OCD too! Don't be embarassed! That's what the doctor is there for and he's had to have seen a lot worse than OCD before! Get help now if you can because with the experiences I've had with it going without treatment makes life so much harder than it has to be! I have an anxiety disorder with panic attacks...that's why I started Xanax again for the right reason. Be brave and see your Doctor...

I walked into my clinic today and spoke with a doctor. I told them all of the feelings I had and about my wrestles nights. They gave me a questionnaire and said I may have clinical depression. They prescribed me Trazodone 50 MG tablets for now sense I need to go in to see my doctor for some more powerful drugs. Thanks for your help in I suppose "urging" me to see the doctor Janell.

That's great that you went in! I took trazodone once and it made me sleep really well...are you supposed to go back in? How is the trazodone working for you so far?

I pulled a stupid move by taking Trazadone with alcohol in my system. Alcohol will never put me to sleep and with the aid of Trazadone it barely made me tired but it put me out. I wasn't groggy but the alcohol gave me a hangover. I am going back in Monday to talk to my normal doctor about it and what my choices are.

What a bummer...been there done that. Got sicker than a dog! [xx(]Hopefully next week your doctor can prescribe something for OCD. I have to see my doctor Sat. to see about getting off of Xanax the right way. Trazodone is in my opinion a dr.'s easy way out of prescribing anything. Let me know what you find out. Thanks for keeping me posted!

Trazodone nightmare from hell

I woke up about two hours after ingesting a 50MG tablet of Trazodone with chest pains. I never have felt this way. I was so confused and it hurt so bad when I took a breath. I had to call for an ambulance to check me out. It's hard to tell what exactly happened but they hooked me up to a heart monitor and I did in fact have an irregular heart beat. They were going to take me but I signed the waiver to not take me in because I needed to work in the morning. It really sucked. I need to get on some new medication.

I never cared for Trazodone. But that reaction sounds scarey to say the least. My doctor finally put me on Clonipin to help with xanax withdrawl. It's messed up when you have to go to different doctors and waste money and time. I hope you find one that will take a genuine interest in you! Tell them everything you've written here on this forum. Remember how you said xanax helped with ocd and how you repeat things? It just dawned on me that since I've been taking it It doesn't happen anymore. I didn't even realize it.... Hope things get better for you. As for me I'm just hoping this med will cure the xanax battle. I'm on day two. Hang in there! It will get better, just don't give up!

Remember that I self-prescribed this medication though. How do you think a doctor would react if I told them I took medication I got from a drug dealer and took just a little bit at a time to help cope with depression? If I were a doctor, it definitely would set something off and tell me maybe that person is a drug abuser looking for a quick and cheap fix.

He doesn't have to know where or who you got it from. All he needs to know is that it worked for you before and that you need it again. Just let him know that it did work. I would tell him that you took it before and it worked and that you're in need of it again. When I go see my doctor any more I let him know up front what I want and expect. I used to just watch him prescribe whatever...and always found myself at home wishing I would have spoken up or done something different. I talk about my expectations and tell him what I want to see the end result to be. You know your body better than anyone does. And you have experience to back it. Anyway, that's what works for me.

The doctor put me on generic Prozac. I like it as it gives me an upper throughout the day but I hate it as I can't concentrate on things I need to. It takes away my ability to think. Or is thinking why I am depressed? I don't know. I also have a sleeping pill called temazepam. It doesn't work unless I try to sleep. I like it in a way that it gives me so vividly real dreams when I sleep. It seems like a drug I might be abusing if not taken off of it.

Hi!

Prozac is a good one I think...I haven't heard of the tenazepam though. Just be careful. I'm really amazed that you're trying so hard and I think you're making alot of progress! Prozac takes a while to work to the full potential but hang in there! I think you're doing great!!! I'm finally off of the xanax....yay!!!!!! You're on the right track....proud of you!!!

Hey guys,
I was just surfing through help forums on Xanax rebound help and this one looks great. Heres my story, I have beent on Xanax for about 7 months now. I take a total of 2.5-3.0mg daily for a neurosis and severe panic disorder. The first few months on the drug were great, no signs of panic attacks, and I wasnt winding myself in loops about nothing all day. Well seven months later the drug has turned a 180 on me. One of my friends even commented on how my personality has changed. I dont know whether or not he is telling the truth though since he is a narcotic abuser, (morphine, vicodin, etc.), and to me he seems to be the one changing. My tolerence has gone from starting at 1.5mg daily to as I said above 2.5mg, and I know I am dependent on the drug. Anyone with support please e-mail me or reply, it would be greatly appretiated. Also if anyone has any information about benzos effecting a personality, please share, I cant see myself from a diffrent viewpoint but I feel like the same person, just a little more relaxed.

Hey,
I've been up to 4 mgs a day and cutting back sucked! It takes a long time and my daughter did notice a change in me...I was literally emotionally unavailable to her. It breaks my heart...I was somewhere else and didn't care much about anything! I'm tapering off with the help of klonopin, but it's slow and go. Good luck...let me know if I can be of any more help. I am here if you need me.

It's been about a week or two(?) on Prozac. I am having negative side effects. I hate the abnormal burising that looks dark red. It sucks. I feel better and emotionally cannot feel anything. I don't know if that is good or bad though. I like it somewhat I suppose.
