What do these signs indicate?

I'm posting on behalf of a friend for this one. He discovered some signs of drug usage in his brother's room and I'm not sure what they indicate.

First, he found white powder and a glass pipe. Also, hundreds of straws, many of them with aluminum foil wrapped on one end. Also, they've noticed a smoky smell quite a lot recently. His brother can't seem to go more than a few days without whatever the drug -- they took a trip and he began to suffer fever, shaking, and had to fly back home. He sleeps a regularly, and apparently seems normal, but no telling how long he's been using or how well he hides it.

Keep in mind -- this is in Cambodia so the drug selection might be different. Money is no issue. I was thinking freebasing, heroin, cocaine... or multiple things, but the straws confused me. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Probably smoking opium or heroin.Also crack cocaine is smoked with a glass pipe.Whatever he doing it's addictive and harmful and you should intervene as soon as possible.Good luck....Dave

I second the opium/heroin suggestion, and also the point about crack cocaine being smoked with a glass pipe. I'd advise having your friend immediately seek professional help on his brother's behalf.... If crack cocaine is a factor, cold turkey is a pretty much unfeasible solution, and will need to be fought with a proper rehabilitation programme. This could be difficult in Cambodia though.
