Default Tramadol Detox Help

Hello folks, I am new to this. Hopefully someone can help me.

I was prescribed Tramadol 50mg for severe pain in my lower neck and shoulder brought on by an injury I sustained about 6 years ago that was made worse by failure to see a physician right away due to lack of health insurance.

The doc I ended up with was, for lack of a better description, a known "drug pusher" type doc who did little to help me understand what was causing the pain, he simply gave me the painkiller.

That was 3 years ago. He assured me Tramadol was non habit forming, etc. I moved to a different city and once I got insurance decided to find a new doctor to see if he could help me, as I am not big on taking a pill every day. Well, I decided to stop taking the tramadol via a tapering method because I am trying to concieve as well as would like to try some better pain relief method. I had been taking only 2-3 tramadol a day, per the RX.

Well, its been 2 days and the withdrawals are horrific. I'm scared now. I am experiencing restless legs, body aches, not to mention heightened pain sensation, sweats, and the shakes. I am having to down coffee and midol (the only thing I have found to dull my pain a bit) just to function at work.

I can't take time off to let this run its course. Does anyone have experience with this? How long do the physical withdrawal symptoms last. Is there anything you can recommend to ease the effects?

Thanks
