Default Is tramadol considered an opiate?

    Hello,

Just wondering if Tramadol is considered an opiate? I am seeking help for my opiate addiction problem and the place I'm looking into going to uses Tramadol as one of their treatement drugs and I want to know if thats considered an opiate.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,
    - Jake

No!! but it should be..I have asked my pharmacist about this drug and he couldn't figure out how they got around it.It should be classified as a opiate just by the way it acts on the brain. You get severe withdrawls when you abuse this drug and it can also cause seizures when you take to much. This is a dangerous drug and I heard it is going to be reviewed this year and possibly reclassified....Dave
