If you're taking .5mg four times per day then you're getting 120 - .5mg pills per month. The equivelancy would be .5mg klonopin equals a 5mg valium or diazepam. So you should get 120 5mg valium/diazepam. Let me know how it goes. God bless.

Hi Robert....well I went to the doctor pretty much locked and loaded with info...I showed him a copy of the Ashton Method which he actually wanted what I printed and was interested....I told him the Klonopin doesn't work anymore b/c I have been on the same dose for years so actully my body is going thru w/d since it's craving more but not getting it...also I'm on a roller coaster ride since it doesn't last as long ....he totally agreed and gave me 60mg with a refill of 60 more
Then I told him how I tapered off the Subs and yes he was totally shocked but loved that I'm off  .... he wants me to write down how I did it ...maybe you can help me write up a good taper to give him so others do not have to go through bad w/d along with the induction part ...I don't see him for 2 months he will be gone for a few weeks....he actually was interested and wants to use it for other tapers .....pretty cool a doctor thats willing to listen even said he would use the info for his students...I will have to take back calling him an idiot 
I feel good that I can actually educate a doctor and possible help other that don't know what to do....all from which you have taught me.
So we are good I got my Diazapam and have 3month + of Klonopin for the taper...now i have been taking .05 4x a day except maybe the last couple weeks I sorta upped it to 5 a day b/c of the RLS which seems to be getting better so I think it was related to less pain meds.
So will this be a long process like the subs....I also have to go away for a week in July which will be stressfull...have to watch my dad he has Alzheimer's .....Guess I'm asking will I have a lot of issues..

I have some question's for you...sorry to bother you with this...Ok I took my last sub dose last Sunday but I understand insomia is a main problem after stopping which totally sucks...I have tried everything nothing works  I also have no appetite and nothing taste good ( yes I do force myself to eat),stomach is squirrely and diarrhea at times, anxiety seems worse ,no energy and yesterday I felt like I had the flu legs ached and all the above....just plain out felt like c*****y....is this due to stopping my subs. I sorta feel like I'm on a roller coaster...Thrusday I felt great ....I just don't get it and don't like it 
I know I have used pain meds for a long time but was on the subs from mid March till last Sunday....I know my body is adjusting but have others had the same issue's?
I know I'm on the Benzo's which I wrote you in the prior post to let you know what happened at the doctors but never heard back....I know the benzo's are no longer working since I have been on the same dose for years ...which I realized after reading the Ashton Method (and stopping pain meds)and that your body can also show signs of w/d due to the fact it needs more (correct me if I'm wrong on that one)....I also did take extra at the end of my sub taper trying to get the RLS under control around 1.5 mg more and I'm tring to cut back ....any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated at this point....how should I go about getting to my normal dose....the wierd part is a month or so back I would forget to take my Benzo's and seemed fine so I would take them when I started to feel the need but then you told me not to do that so I started taking them as sheduled....
I'm beginning to wonder is this all worth it  I know it will be in the end but
right now I hate feeling like this. Please Help.

Hi Pam .... so do you think a sliver would help you? You've got to help me at this point. I don't know for sure if you need a sliver or not. Either you take a sliver and hope that settles you down or else you ride it out. I don't think just adding a bunch of klonopin is the answer, that will just make you drowsy. If you're feeling the subutex then that wouldn't help you .. at least it wouldn't necessarily make the symptoms disappear.
Take imodium for the diarrhea. Take the klonopin for the anxiety. But the regular w/d symptoms the klonopin won't make that go away. If you think a sliver is what you need then take it. It only means your clean date is pushed back a few days, that isn't the end of the world if it makes this go easier for you now. Tell me what you think.
The benzo taper will last as long as the subs lasted. It will have it's ups and downs too. Don't worry about that until we get there. Let's get you through the subutex first. Tell me if you think you need a sliver or if you should stick it out through this. God bless.

God bless. | Robert...I think I will ride it out for now it will be a whole week tomorrow after stopping the subs...if it is the subs it has to end soon right ...Even the last sub dose I didn't sleep but I didn't get the RLS that's a plus...if anything changes I will let you know...
As far as the klonopin I don't want to take a larger amount it will just make the Benzo taper worse and trust me it does not make me sleep tried that one night nothing wide awake...did you read my prior post about seeing the doctor etc...I got the Diazepam as you asked so we are good there..

I think you're doing the right thing hammering out the taper and not taking anything. Yes it will go away if you give it a day or two I think. No way I would give in now.
I can usually ask you what you think you should do and you usually tell yourself the right thing. That's like Psych 101.
I'm glad you got the diazepam. That will make the benzo taper a little easier. You've got the Ashton Manual too. That is pretty much what I would go by giving you suggestions. Only thing is everyone is still different. Some people can get away with being more agressive than what Dr Ashton says. She's very conservative. We'll deal with that later. God bless.

I think you should play it by ear on the number of days between reductions doing the benzo detox. Most people need four days between reductions with opiates and you did fine with three days. I would aim for that again. We are all a little different and you may get away with three day intervals on benzos too. Just have to see how you do after the first few reductions. But go slowly at first at least until you see how you do. God bless.

I would continue to take it four times if that is what you're doing now. That will be the first thing that goes though will be that small fourth dose. As soon as the taper down begins you'll eliminate the fourth dose. You could take it four times though for a few days prior while you're making the medication switch over to diazepam. God bless.

God bless. | Robert ...Thanks I have not started the taper as of yet since we both decided I needed to be to give my body a slight break after stopping the subs...I have slept the last 2 night wish has been great .....just stomache is real sensitive ...and I have been real crabby ( I know don't say it a chick thing ) .
Well you will just have to tell me what to take when starting the Benzo taper and how much....got an idea just not totally sure....I'll just do as you say..

Well today I'm crabby b/c I didn't get any freakin sleep last night...should have known it was to good to be true...It's like your brain just doesn't want to shut down .
My husband really ticks me off and we have to go away with his family and I don't want to go....mainly b/c my stomach has really been killing me and no clue why along with not sleeping and then I have to put on a smiley face....So I really don't like to go places when I feel like this ....Then my oldest daughter is really asking for it so when I went to my grandsons party I had to be have she is really p****ing people off ...I was so ready to just grap her and smack her into next year....Ok I think I'm done venting now...
I'm so glad I'm done with those Subs...I never thought it would end...now the Benzo's...well thats fine b/c then I will so happy no more pills...I feel like my whole spring and summer has been revolving around drug tapers and I don't get to have fun b/c you never know from one day to the next how you will feel...alright now I'm done whining
So how does Robert have me switch over to the diazapam when I start the taper? I ended upping my doses during my taper maybe 1 1/2 mg on the bad days so now I'm trying to stay at the normal dose ...I should be ok going back to it since I don't think I did it to long but I did go up and down in the past depending on how upset I got.

My computer got a virus last Thursday, but got it fixed last night. I was catching up on posts and I read that you have to go to a family function? UGH...I do know how you feel! It is so hard to go to a family function that you really don't want to go to to begin with (kinda like me going to my husband's family functions....talk about a dysfunctional situation...his parents are full blown alcoholics, but alcohol is totally okay, no family function happens without it-to excess - my husband doesn't drink at all because of this, but when they found out about my problem, well, they have a hay day with that!) when you are feeling like this, then have to put a "smile" on your face....very hard.
Just wanted to wish you well on your trip....just keep on smilin'  )

mags | Hey Mags....Oh boy I have been to one too many family achoholic gatherings in my last marriage ....but this one only a few drink but let me tell you I couldn't take it so I had a couple shots not to mention my I-Pod sure came in handy....The smiling part was the hardest ....glad that is over ...I'll explain later....I will send you my e-mail address again.

Hi Robert.....Yes I'm still here and I'm TOTALLY OPIATE FREE thanks to you and everyone that supported me....It will be 3 weeks this Sunday!!!!!
I never did any silvers after we spoke....the only issue I seem to still have is a very nervous stomach but hopefully that will go away in time ...it doesn't help I have a older daughter that is holding my addiction and everyother thing over my head and not letting me see my grandkids but, I will just have to learn to deal with ignorance.
Ok so now the Benzo Taper what do I have to do I have the Diazapam just not sure how you want me to do this??? So this will be my last taper then I will be done.
I will be gone from the 7th -17th but will have a computor so should I start now or wait??
