    Default stop these headaches!

I have been taking hydrocodone for about a year now, only about 1-2 a day and sometimes not even everyday. I was diagnosed with migranes intitially and none of the migrane medicine ever releived my pain. The doctor then put me on hydrocodone and whallaaa.......headache gone. Now, after a year, of non daily usage my doctor will no longer refill my script. Are there any ways I can receive a script online or does anyone have a suggestion.....I have been to the ER 3 times in the last month for my migranes and cannot go on like this. I am clearly not addicted, my script was only 30 a month so where is the harm? I need help and can't seem to find it anywhere....so, someone, HELP! Thanks

I have a friend who takes Midrin for her migrane headaches. As soon as she feels one coming on she takes 2 and she gets relief right away but every once in awhile they don't help so she goes to the E.R. and gets some kind of a shot to make her head stop hurting.

I've taken Hydrocodone for severe tension headaches and they really helped me. My doctor gave me 20 several months ago but he didn't give me a refill. Should I ever need more he would call in a script for me.

Yes, very sure, had migranes way before I was ever given this medication and have been on several migrane medications....a demoral shot a few times but only lasts for a few hours. I thought hydrocodone was my miracle and then they stopped it, I was devastated and could not understand how such a small amt a month was taken away from me just because of a doctor's worry about his own liability I suppose, in the meantime I am suffering and spending a lot of money at the ER.

I also suffer from severe migraines...hence the opiate fest that has insued. I am currently on a waiting list at the Mayo Clinic to see a headache specialist. Do you have anything like that in your area? I don't understand why your g.p. would relieve your pain with vicodin only to abruptly decide that you no longer need it.

From pj Good luck trying to get a script for pain meds on line. The drug control boards have cracked down on this,, Drs are even given out less and less. My dr cut me off after 2 years of prescribing them for medical reason, the pharmacys are watching things like hawks.
and when i did get cut off, thats how i ended up in the suboxone program. I couldn't get any more opiates and i wasnt gone to buy them on the street. and I knew it was time for me to do somthing. YES the opiates worked wonders for headaches I get migrains and now with out the opitaes I suffer! the stuff they give for migrains doesn't work well on me, But the dr told me their is a migrane medicine that will work for me. they just have to figue out which one so its trail and error. GOOD luck to you

I use Maxalt and Lortab (hydrocodone) for them. It ended up being that Maxalt was the only thing I could take that gave any relief and the Lortab is for the pain part of the migraines.

My GP stopped prescribing Lortab several years ago and sent me to a neurologist. I think that specialists like neurologists have more flexibility with prescribing narcotics on and on-going basis than a GP since the majority of the patients they see are suffering from pain. It seems that at some point a GP has to send a patient to a specilist instead of continually prescribing narcotics because they are most likely under more scrutinity.

    Just some thoughs.

I don't know what area you're from, but you should check around to see if there's a headache specialist around. I used to see a headache specialist, who was actually just an internal medicine doc, but he specialized in headache treatment. he was awesome. I got put on so many different things when I had migranes alot but the only thing that helped me was fiorinal #3(w/codeine). Now thank god I only have migranes maybe once a year I don't have to worry about it. Just a suggestion good luck!!!
