Angry So this is Sub Withdrawl?

Hi,
I'm a 28m been taking painkillers (vicodin, percocet 30-50mg daily) for about 2 years. I went to my Dr. for w/d help and I have been on the waiting list for a recovery center/suboxone treatment program for 9 months so far. I recently went to orientation and it looks like another 4 months or so till I come up on the waiting list. I don't have the $$$$ to afford normal treatment centers which run 4-$5,000 in my area. My Dr. told me to get suboxone if possible (illegally nudge nudge) and that will take care of it. I had been taking sub 4-8mg daily off and on for about 5 months and quit cold turkey after feeling I had beat my narco addiction. I had no appetite, lost 25+ lbs, zero motivation while somehow not realizing that i was going through w/d's from sub. Obviously i made a gigantic mistake in trying to acquire subs and do this on my own. I have now been on subs for 4 days again with tapering down my main goal taking 4mg a day and doing fine.

When should I lower this dose to 2mg so I can get this S@#$ out of my life and move on?

Here is a link to how I've been suggesting people use subs for a pretty long time. There are lots of success stories here following this plan. You can't jump off abruptly at that dose and expect to NOT have w/d problems. Check out the link closely and let me know if I can help. God bless.

Default 6 days @ 4mg....

OK, I feel I have passed a threshold @ 4mg per day. I feel stable and am ready for the next step. So 3mg per day till I'm "good"? Thanks for your time. Just a simple answer will suffice. I know you all are busy.

After six days at 4mg you should be ready to reduce to 3mg. Do that four days without feeling symptoms and then you'll drop to 2.25mg. Four good days at 2.25mg and you reduce another 25% and so on.

You're on track and doing well. Stay focused and stick with the plan. You'll be totally clean in a relatively short time. God bless.
