Hey robert, its matt not his mother i hope u have a wonderful mday with your mom if u still have one. Alot of us take our mothers standing by us for granted. You were curious on how after taking 24 mg after 3 years how i got down with the least discomfort.I immediately dropped 8mg for a month with no pain at all just a little stool problem for a couple of days, I left it like that for a month and a half then I dropped 4mg tor the next 2 weeks then another 2 weeks the next 4mg. Then stayed on 8mg for about 6 months, then i decided i wanted to get off completely so i went down to 6mg for 2 weeks then stayed on 4 for almost a month just so i didnt rush it. I then dropped 2mg. Then my dr. told me to take 2mg 1 day and nothing the next that was impossible i was unable to work even get up so now im taking 2mg one day and 1mg the next and been feeling fine i think after a couple of weeks it should be the same in my blood system as taking 3 quarters of one tablet and loosing medication. Ill probrably try to go down to 1mg for 2 weeks and .5 for a few days. I want to thank you for showing my mother support the last 2 weeks.

Hi Matt. Glad you got on here. The way I always tell everyone to do this is to reduce your total dose by 25% for four days before reducing by another 25%. That allows for the long half life. If you're at 2mg you drop to 1.5mg. If you go too fast you will have problems. You shouldn't have any w/d symptoms to speak of if you go that route. As long as you've used subs I would taper all the way down to .25mg. Then you begin skipping days, you don't just stop abruptly even at a very low dose. IF you do there will be w/d symptoms I promise. God bless.

hi Robert! I am down to 1 mg one day and 1 1/2 the next. It seems to be working. Soon I'll try 1 mg for a couple of days and then I'll try to go down to .75 and so on. My mom has been reading the posts and how you help lots of people. God bless you! Thanks again.

hi! I am down to .5mg - it can be lousy but I'm almost there. As you said Robert after taking 24 mg for 3 years,it can be tough. When I read the posts I realize no one else has taken that much and most doctors are not sure about the potency of the drug. I don't regret taking it, but its been too long!
Will keep in touch.

I have had people here on 32mg -40mg on suboxone for a long time. I've seen every dose you can imagine. I can still take you down and off following my suggestions. It can be a little tougher down to .5mg. God bless.
