Default Relapsed 11/2 & have my 1st probation UA on 11/9 - scared!

Hey all - I'm new to the forums & hope someone can help me. I've been addicted to smoking heroin for over 2 years & was arrested (non-drug charge)in late spring. I have to take a UA for probation on Monday, 11/9. I relapsed for a while but last used on 11/2. Will I test dirty? I can't stand the thought of being locked up again. Does anyone know if I'll be OK? Is there anything I can do? I'm on my second day of being clean again. It's hard, but I can do it. If I'm going to test dirty though, I may just give up.

If you smoked that one time you should be clean by the test date. Having an attitude of "just giving up" will surely land you in jail. So you need to decide if you want to use for a while and go to jail or get clean.

Have you tried using suboxone? It will work. I've worked with tons of heroin addicts and as long as you're seeing a dr legally for your medication it won't affect your probation. Here is a link on sub therapy. Check it out.

If you need help finding a dr go to www.suboxone.com and type in your zip code. You tell them how many miles you're willing to drive to see the dr and a list of all sub-certified drs will come up. Good luck and God bless.

Hi Robert - thanks for your help! Unfortunately, I had been using regularly (about $10 worth a day) for about 60-80 days or so, so I am not sure if that will affect anything. I should probably have made that clearer in my first post. I know I can't just give up, and I won't. So far I haven't had any physical withdrawal symptoms, so I think as long as I can keep busy & avoid old playmates I'll be okay. I did use Suboxone once to clean up a long time ago, but relapsed after just two weeks. I'm not seeing a doctor or anything to quit. I just detoxed while in jail and figured after the horrible experience I'd never use again. That did not last very long, obviously! I'm going to NA, but I'm not comfortable sharing anything. In fact, it was very hard for me to just post here!

Here is a link that helped me out a few times.......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_te...ection_periods

I too am on probation and have violated about 3 times. I ran once because I relapsed and didn't want to piss dirty. The biggest mistake of my life. My suggestion is to not use anymore (a lot harder done than said). Drink a lot of water, take Niacin and just hope for the best.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, Dying_to_Live! That helps me a lot. I'll keep everyone posted. Like I said, I think I can stay away from heroin as long as I keep my mind occupied. The first day without is always hardest because my brain just goes in circles trying to find ways/reasons/etc. to get high, but now that I'm into Day 2, things are better.
