Question about Prednisone -Please answer

Is it illegal to purchase Prednisone online? I have taken it before in the past for chronic pain. It takes 2 months to get an appointment to see my doctor and I was thinking about taking a low dose (5mg) a day for my chronic pain. I have done the pain pill route and would prefer the Prednisone. What are your thoughts?

You're not supposed to purchase any drugs online or otherwise without a legal prescription.

I've taken prednisone on and off for years. It's not a controlled substance but you still need to be careful with steroids. You've got to watch how long you take prednisone and how you taper off.

It's not a toy just because it isn't a narcotic. Be careful. God bless.

Even though Predinsone can help drop the pain, its side effects from extended use (even only a few months!) can be pretty bad. I was on 25mg for about 4 months, when my doctor found out i was still taking it he freaked out (even though he didnt tell me to stop taking it)

The one to watch out for is to not stop taking it suddenly, as your body is getting the steroid from the pill, it stops producing the natural one in your body, so if you stop suddenly you get steroid pain withdrawal syndrome, which for me (i got it even when i tapered off it) was like withdrawing of pain killers, and also depresses you quite badly

Hi, Up in the northwest prednisone is not a scheduled drug so therefore I doubt you would get arrested for possessing it even without a scrip. It will bring down swelling but you might want to try to get naprosyn/naproxen b/c it is cheaper and prednisone will not "buff" you up and it will weaken your immune system leaving you open to illness.
