I have recently "re"-started a
suboxone treatment. After my relapse that is. My new doctor has me taking two 8mg (16mg) a day. I understand according to a lot of people on here that that seems to be too much a day. Aside from that my question, or inquiry rather, is this. In the past months, even before I started with my suboxone again, I have been having very vivid nightmares. Nuclear armageddon, demons, etc... Resulting in me not sleeping at all or not very well. I went to my doctor and told him about this and his first thought was that it could be some type of reaction to the suboxone however he said he has never heard of suboxone doing that to people. Keep in mind these are not "using" dreams, they are just very intense nightmares. Anywho, he suggested I might try cutting down to 12mg a day but also decided to give me a prescription for something called
trazodone. I have never heard of this so decided to look up information on it. Most places seem to call it a certain type of an antidepressant, however, I thought antidepressants were NOT to be used with suboxone. The paper they gave to me on suboxone when I first went to the doctor said specifically not to use antidepressants (or something similar to that). I would just like to know if this is safe. Originally I assume that it is due to my doctor prescribing it to me, however I want to make sure. If anybody has ever had to take these medications together, I just wanted some input. I was told to take half of one (100mg tablet) at bedtime and see how I react to it. If it made me too groggy in the morning I'm to cut down to half of that. I have yet to take it because I'm not sure what it will really do. If somebody could please give any information I would appreciate it. I haven't really had any sleep (past 40 minutes at a time here and there) for a long time and if it would really help me get sleep than I want to be able to take it. I just need to make sure that it is okay and see anybody else's experiences with this combination. Thank you in advance for any information you may give me.
