I had shingles in my right eye starting Oct.17, 2005. I am still on Prednisolone over three years later. My vision is getting worse. The article I just read says that after 10 days the patient should be re-evaluated. Can one stay on prednisolone indefinitely? Should I get a second opinion? Anyone had an experience like this?

I would certainly get another opinion. Ive never heard of being on it long, and Ive only ever stayed on 10 days max with all my problems.

I think another doctor couldnt hurt. I would look into it myself. What side effects have you had? I have horrible weight gain from it every single time. I cant imagine long term use.
