Hi Robert,

I think you're fantastic and I definitely believe you are my best source of advice on this. My main problem right now is that I am going to be doing some travelling and I have a good 10 days coming up with barely any obligations. I was hoping that if I jumped off now I would have 10 solid days to recover. Do you think that is a horrible idea? Maybe I could try it and if it is indeed too hard I could go back on at 2mg and then try to do the taper as you describe. I'm just not sure what to do though...

Do you think that my idea is doomed to fail?

Let me know.

Thank as always for your help.

I would expect that you will feel like hell within 3-4 days if you stop the subs abruptly especially coming from 32mg.

I would never try to talk anyone out of quitting cold turkey but it just goes against my way of thinking. I used subs so I wouldn't have to do cold turkey.

It seems a waste to go so far and then do cold turkey anyway. But if you want to do it go for it just be prepared for some unpleasant days ahead. God bless.

I hear you Robert I guess I just want to experience it for myself to see how bad it really is. Not sure why I feel the need to do this but if it gets too bad I will just get back on at the lowest dose possible 1 or 2 mg.

So far it has been 24 hours and I feel okay. A little bit achy and my stomach feels a little weird but nothing bad. I will post how I feel later.

Thanks for your help and support.

Hey Everyone,

So it has been 37 hours now since my last dose and I keep having hot flashes and some chills and I am yawning alot. My legs also intermittently ache. I have found one positive thing that has happened though and that is that I seem to have more of an appetite. When I take the sub I barel have an appetite except for sugary things. Tonight the first time in a very long time I ate some snack chips and I got some pleasure from eating them. Food hasn't given me any pleasure since I got on the subs.

It's 11pm and I am not tired and am not sure what's going to happen.

I'll update you in the AM.

Good night.

Jen .... I hope that your detox goes easily. I certainly don't want to be a doomsayer.

I would expect that tomorrow will likely be the day w/d symptoms get noticeable if you are like most people. The end of the second or sometime during the third day is when most people notice sub w/d. Let us know. God bless.

Has anyone else used them to minimize withdrawal? How low do you think I need to go on the subs to get off? Can I jump at 2mg?

Okay, thanks for your help.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Hey Jenx... I'm on Klonopin but now and almost at the end of my taper...I'm getting ready to start my three day skip after today ...Klonopin didn't do a thing fo me even last night I took 3 and still got no sleep .You really shouldn't start another addictive drug it won't help you jump off at 2mg...you will feel the w/d if you jump at 2mg. When I went down to .25 I had problems for a week even refused to a silver thinking it would go away NOT !!!The beast beat me and I took that silver ...it kicked my A$$ .I'm pretty strong minded so please listen to Robert 2mg may seem like nothing but you will see.
Funny u mention food nothing taste good to me ...just no sweet tooth at all..Have to force myself to eat.
Well good luck ....glad the lines worked out for you

Thumbs up

Thanks for everyone's kind words and also words of caution. I appreciate them more than you know! I ended up taking the klonopin at around 11pm last night and it wiped me out. Pam my klonopin are 1mg - maybe you're's aren't as strong? I know how addictive they are I have gotten off of benzos twice in my life and I am not going to allow myself to get addicted again.

I woke up feeling a little odd today some minor aches and hot flashes and chills. I feel okay to make it to my outpatient program at 1pm.

I'll keep you posted how I feel.

Please stay with me I need all the support/comments I can get.

Hey Everybody,

It's been over 102 plus hours or 4.5 days. Yesterday was pretty terrible. I haven't been able to sleep, have some stomach problems, the RLS thing is driving me crazy. I am still hanging in there though. I've made it this far.

Hope everyone's doing well.

You're hardcore! I've seen others do this detox like you're doing it and it's definitely the hard way. But whatever works is good! God bless.

I'm still alive over here. Still not feeling good. I got some clonodine from my doc and that seemed to help but it zapped all of my energy. I had a bit of an accident today I got up and bent over quickly and then stood up and I kind of passed out and smacked my head on my dresser and got a nice bruise and cut. My stomach is still angry but I think the worst part has been mental. I was in some pretty dark deep places for awhile there. I'll post more later.
