Default Opiate addiction/suboxone advise

Hello all. I am 22 years old and I have had an opiate addiction on and off for about 5 years. I went from abusing opiates to abusing opiates and cocaine. I quit for 2 years due to a development of general anxiety disorder. I still deal with my gad these days but it seems more often now a days and I believe it comes from the ammount of opiates I snort. I'm on a 5 a day habbit. Sometimes more or less. More if I have more, less if I have less. I havent done cocaine in 3 years and i'm very mentally confident ill never do it again. I felt the same way about opiates but I broke my hand and I havent let up since. Its been almost a year since I began my addiction again. This time around its 10x worse then what it was. I only do hydrocone and oxycodone. Ocassionaly i'll use oxycontin if thats all thats around.

I have the urge to quit but I can not handle the physical withdrawl symptoms. I try and try but relapse. I had about 5 percocets yesterday but today i've only had 1 pink loritab 10mg. I feel decent but I know its going to get bad.

A friend of mine gave me 2 8mg suboxone's to aid me in my quest to drop my habit once and for all. I'm wondering some things about it. When do I start taking it? In the morning? I need some advise on taking it. As far as how, what to avoid, etc. I also need to know if I can take 1/2 of a 1/4 if that makes sense. Break it into 8 peices. Will that be enough for a daily dose? My friend said that he took a eighth everyday for 2 weeks and didnt experience any withdrawl symptoms of withdrawling from opiates. He said he felt under the weather for 2 days after quiting suboxone but nothing compared to the withdrawl from opiates.

Also. I don't take any other medications. Will this effect my anxiety. Can I die from such a small dose of suboxone? If I take some and mentally send myself into a panic attack. Is it mental and will I be ok lol?

Any advise anyone can give me would be pleasent. Sorry to rant and ask alot of questions. I dont want to be on this path anymore but I dont want to go through torture of withdrawling to quit. Please help.

First off, you have to be in at least acute withdrawal before you take suboxone or it will put you into precipitated withdrawal. That means wait till you feel sick and have some symptoms of withdrawal like a bad case of the yawns, goosebumbs, hot cold flashes, dialated pupils or whatever withdrawal symptoms are unique to you. Should be about 12-24hours after your last high. Then take either a quarter or a half a pill. If you feel better after 20 minutes thats your dose. If not take a bit more till the withdrawals subside. Then taper off whatever dose you go on. Its a great way to come off opiates without withdrawals. I was on H and my starting dose was 24 mg to get rid of the withdrawals but i had a huge habit. Your friend has done you right. 4mg should be good.
If you stay on the sub for more than a couple weeks you will be hooked on that, which is what most poeple use it for (Maintenance therapy). But it is excellent for short term outpatient detox. Tons of dr's prescribe it.
Hope that helps.

Default suboxone short term only

i had a 6 yr lortab and oxycodone habit my wifes cousin gave her 10 suboxone 8 mg and a piece of paper that told me to take one a day and then taper down over a three week period and told me not to take the first one until i was into full withdrawl 18 hours after your last opiate so i waited 18 hours and i was feeling really ********************py so i took the suboxone and felt better within a half an hour, the suboxone has a long half life 37 hours well while i was feeling good that day i did alot of reading up on suboxone and all the horror stories that go with it,they say that the withdrawls from suboxone are worse than opiates. This is what i did i was on lortab 10 mg 150 a month 5 a day for five years and then had my doctor switch them too oxycodone 30 mg 120 a month 4 a day i did that for 1 year and then decided i didnt want them in my life anymore and weened down from 4 to 3 to 1 and then took that one suboxone 8 mg all in a matter of four days i did this and havnt touched anything since 2-5-08 that was when i took that one suboxone on that day i just didnt want to switch one drug for another soo if you can do it this way i would advise it because suboxone is some bad stuff to try to quit worse than opiatesGOOD LUCK

No aches, paines, or withdrawls. I plan on doing the same thing tomorrow. I will keep you guys updated. Day 1 down. More to go

Default Dont Waste Your Money on Dope!

I have battled with opiates for a long time. It all stemmed from an injury which caused me to go on disability. I liked Oxycontin too much, and began to abuse it in the worst way. I really had no valid reason for quitting, other than financial. That was not enough. Finally I got tired of being sick all the time. After a heavy addiction, I tried Suboxone. This seems like a miracle drug. I had no withdrawal symptoms, no pain, but most of all no craving. This drug has anti depressant properties which seemed to perk me up a little. I felt energeticand motivated - the exact opposite of dope. I had a 160mg oxy addiction, and all it took was one 8mg Suboxone a day for one week to quit completely. I did not even notice any w/d symptoms from Suboxone. However, I can tell you this, you need to wait at least 48 hours after taking Sub before trying to ingest ANY other opiates. It will be a total waste of your time and money. Not like dope isnt anyway, but just in case you are an off and on user, let the Sub ride it's course before falling off the wagon, which I hope none of you do.
