Hi Daphers,
I see you are tapering again thats great..I called my p/m doctor and fired him and then asked for a letter stating I was no longer under his care. At least if you do that you won't be tempted to go back.
If your having problems cutting your pills I can help with that one...just let me know and tell me what size pill you are on . I'm actually doing the same with my Diazepam since they crumble and I looked like an idiot trying to get the dose right...it's bad when you are sucking powder from your fingure nails...which yes were clean.
Actually we are allowed 4 emotions but when you do a reply and the other person has used some then you can only use what is left.
Well keep up the good work and let me know about cutting to get your doses.
Pam

Hi All !!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend I hate to see it end. We've been out in the boat both days! The weather has been great here, not it's usual rainy weekend. In the 90's, big puffy clouds and NO RAIN! Makes for great boating weather, fishing and snorkeling. And a small slight sunburn! LOL

Pam, I can't thank you enough for helping me out with the cutting/dosage.

Robert, I will have to admit it was challenging for me and the final dosage isn't quite as low as we thought, although it's amazingly low for an induction dosage, not the 4 I had hoped.

I was very embarrased to post on here and admit to it, I mean......it's as simply as dividing down 1 little pill right? ...Ha! When It was at 4ish it was ok, then I had that small meltodown last Saturday 1 day into inducing, so it was upped .5. Anyway to make a long story short.....from what I can see, and how I've recalculated, it was more like 5.5.

I had some great help with division and took a crash course in how to divide grams into smaller doses correctly.

Although this may not be exact.......tomorrow it will be 4 ...period. 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. It should be easy to cut the 8 in half, then half the 4., then I'll keep going down from there. The .6 and the .8 ...my calculator couldn't even figure it out!!

Well thats it. It wasn't done perfectly, but I did it none-the-less. I haven't had a thought about anything else either.

Last week at work was the best week I've had in a long time, up until Friday when we had 2 confirmed cases of swine flu in our school, and 3 children went home early sick. Yesterday we received the 3rd confirmed case. No telling what tomorrow will bring!

Oh........the pain clinic called again and left another message, said I could come in this week if I wanted since I missed last week. Uhm, no thanks.

Have a wonderful weeke everyone!

Hugs,

Default Still tapering down the suboxone road...

Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well.....

Posting, sorry I have not been posting regularly, or rather not at all for the past few weeks. At work I have almost zero access to the internet, my boss works less than 10 ft away....anyway, I wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing.

I am now down to 3 mg’s daily of suboxone. Induced somewhere around 5 (thank you Robert) and have slowly been going down.

The first week was great! I mean really great. The 2nd week was ok-ish. I felt like I was getting “buzzed” on my evening dose....I did not like that feeling at all , but kept at the same dosage for the week. The 3rd week I had a lot going on in my world......for 3 days I abused the suboxone. Yup. Took about 6 mg’s daily vs the 3. How stupid is that huh? It did not give me a buz, it just made me sleepy and lethargic. Bleh. This week I’m at my 3 mg’s and for the most part I’m doing fine with it. I take 2 mg’s in the morning and then 1 mg around 5-ish. If I feel a bit anxious during the interim I will take .5 xanax (I’m prescribed 2 mg daily) and it calms the anxiety and settle in until the evening dose.

Now....has anyone had hot flashes as a side affect?? I have them BAD! They started the 2nd week after taking suboxone. I told my Dr about it last week and of course, the first thing he asks if I could be pre-menopausal. GEEEEEEEEEZ. No no and NO. I get them pretty regularly. I wake up sweaty. My boyfriend said he could feel the heat emanating of my body....this happens several times an hour and can last from a few seconds to a minute+, beads of sweat appear and my entire body is misty.

Any ideas on how long this lasts?

Someone suggested it wasn’t the suboxone, rather it was my body still withdrawing from the oxies??

The idea to use....hits me the first few days after I taper, this is why I stay a week at the dosage vs the 4 days....and I don’t always taper at the 25%.

I do hope all is well with everyone.

God Bless
