[?]Hi Everyone- I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET CLEAN AND STAY CLEAN! I was clean for 3 yrs with a kind of recent relaps. I have some questions about Meth Clinic. I was wondering how you go about becoming apart of the program and also if you dont have insurance is there any help at all. I do have insurance thru the state i live in but my boyfreind does not since hes working part time to beale to go to schoOl to get a degree. One more thing if anyone knows the steps you have to take such as do you just walk in a clinc and spit it out to them or do you give a call and how long b4 you are part of the program. All meth. clinics are different. The one in my state you go in on wednesday mornings at 7:45 am with $80, and they give you a physical, do a urine test, blood test, and then give you another appointment. I asked if anybody could be accepted and they said no it just depends. Then if you do get accepted its $8 a day, with random drug tests, if you fail, you get kicked off. You can google methadone clinics and then it will ask for your state, and then give you the phone numbers! Hope that helps.

thank you very much i have called some in my state and area today. Tomarrow i have to go in with 30 dallors for the first vistit. They said the rest is covered by my insureance as for the boyfriend he too has to pay 30 but aslo depending on the amount of his income weekly one place i called said 25 dallors a week and that is a hold lot less then what hes been going thur

Right on!! Did they say your insurance paid the daily cost, too? I wanted to do it but $240 a month?? Plus, I dont know how I would leave on the weekends without my husband getting suspicious, he doesnt know anything! Good luck, again!!!

i guess the insurance does cover when i go tomarrow after noon i will let you know the out come. So far all she said was to bring 30 dallors and id to fill out the paper work. And like i said for my boyfriend that it depend on his income since he dosent have insur. but hes not wokring right now anyway becasue hes going to school fulltime.Hmm.. youd have to hell your hubby your going shopping or something and make sure you come home with something!Since its both of us its different and i have my own place the only person i wouldnt want to find out is my mother b/c i was clean for 3 yrs and shed be dissappointed in me. I was thinking of asking then if they can do like a 6 months detox maybe to see how that goes if not then i can always stay on it if i had to but id rather just try first.

For anyone that would like to know i did go to the clinc today to fill out my paper work i have to have a phycical monday and then i start my dose i dont know what that would be yet. i did ask if when im ready if i can do a slow taper and they said yes. i did pay the 30 dallors and the rest is covered. For my b/f he has to go to another appointment because he dosent have the track record like to do 7 detoxes he hasnt tryed one but he goes to school full time and cant affored to do that becasue od schoola nd no insurance but they said theyb rarly turn someone away so well see how that goes

Now that im on my why to methadone maintaince im wondering about ppl who are on it and how they like it or dont like it. How does it effect there life for the better or for the worse. If they wish they never have or they couldnt imagian there life with out it.If you have done long detox short detox or are on for life.

Hi Everyone just wanted to tell anyone who wants to know that i did start the clinic today they started me off at 25 mg and tomarrow will be 35 i prob wont go over that casue i feel pretty much fine. after a while you earn your take homes with is good so you dont have to go there everyday.I dont think its gonna be as bad as i thought and they let you have the options to decide when you want to detox and how fast.

Way to go Ali!!!!Your going to feel so much better.My life has done a complete turn around since I started mmt 3 years ago.One thing I will tell you is to watch your diet and make sure to stay active otherwise you will put on weight.Keep us up todate on your progress and once again congrats.....Dave

Thank you Dave that was very nice. i have heard that you can gain weight so i think im going To take up walking after this week of getting stablized. Youve been on for many years now do you get many take homes a week,or months. im asking b/c it says in my papers that after 60 days if all gose well you can take home sat. and sun. not just sun. and after 90 days 2 times a week and so on and so on untill you get to go once a month!

most clinic have a system where your clean for x number of months then you start to earn take homes.I get weekends and holidays.My job doesn't interfere with my dosing otherwise I can get 6 take homes a weeks which is the max in Canada.Good luck and stick with it you'll feel great.....Dave

Hi, my husband and I have both been on methadone maintenance for almost 4 years now. It has been a lifesaver for us, if we weren't there right now i couldn't tell ya where we'd be,probably dead or in jail. We were addicted to oxycotin for almost 5 years before we got the "denial" stage out of our heads. I can't believe that you just have to pay 25$,ours is 600$ a month and it goes up every year. I really think it should be paid for by the government, federal, state,or whoever. Because it is a federal bldg. I did have state insurance that pd.for mine for a while though, so i can't complain, and you never have to worry about being sick EVER again. It's always there for you, so you don't have to worry the night before if your gonna go sick the next day or not. I can't even begin to explain how much it has changed our lives, for the better. Thats so great, I'm so happy for you! Does your insurance pay the everyday fee? If so, how much? What insurance do you have? I have anthem. I live in KY and heard the clinic in IN is much better, so I might call them. Where do you live? Sorry for all the questions, I have been contemplating going to a clinic for a long time. I feel like I would benefit so much from it. My husband is not understanding at all. He was on loritab 10's and hated them, made him sick, his Dr. even tried to put him on 20 mg of methadone and he told him no!!! I couldnt believe it. Well, talk to ya soon!

Guys, i know this is a totally off the wall question, but i can't figure out how to get my font changed and the color, please tell me how? It is a letter that my clinic dr. wrote about addiction, it's very interesting. It's something that you'd want to show to your family members that don't understand why your an addict. Hi everyone Thank you all for your responses. umm.. i guess my insureance covers the daily cost becasue ive been on it for 2 days now and no problem well excep they started me off at 25mgs and i was good till 2 in the moring by 5am i was in a hot bath im up to 35mgs today so hopefully ill stabalize here or somewhere near.Ok.. Well my boyfreind starts doseing tomaarow and he dose NOT have insurance so ill find out what the daily amount will be for him tomaarow i no it goes on your income and right now he dosent have any but is going to school full time to finsih his degree.Also im in connecticut and there r many clincs and i do agree they should make it more afforable everywhere and that wouled make the would a better safer place. I will let you all know how it gose for him tomarrow with the cost and everything.And i am starting to feel better already even went to back to school night i just got back !!!

your husbands not going to understand because it seems he dosent seem to be into the things you r. if you dont mind me asking what is it that your addicted to and how much and how do you keep it from him!..Its hard for someppl to understand addiction when the have never been apart of it i too started off on OXY and the to herion and also belived they was no way i would need something everyday but i DID!!! Also i was clean for 3 years and Never THOUGHT I WOULD RELAPS so if theres anyway to get in a clinic i would see if he will go to a meeting with you and leaarn about addition for you to understand that its not as simple as he thinks it is.

Hello everyone back with the info i promised my daily cost is taken care of by insurance my boyfreind on the other hand was told to pay 90 dallors a week untill he gets his first unemployment check next week witch is only 160 and then they will lower it due to his check witch is hhis only income right now.He 2 also started today and 25 mgs and me still on 35 i will go to 55 tomarrow because it seems that around 2 in the morning it starts to wear down leaving me restless the rest of the night other wize during the day im doing great. And i think that will be it for me. Hope everyone is doing well and getting the help they need.

Hey Ali,
I've been on loritab and percs (I love percs!), for about 2 years. It started small then of course, had to do more and more. Now I'll usually take 10 a day, and thats so that I dont do them all, or I would probably do more. I started just Dr. shopping, going to the e.r. and dentists. But then my husband was in an auto accident, and he started getting 140 Loritab 10s a month and thats been for about 7 months. He knows I use pills, and it bothered him but really there was nothing he could do about it, until now. Now hes saying hes going to start selling them instead of letting me have them (he would rather be in pain than take them, they make him sick, even just half of one!) I told him fine that I guess I would start finding them again myself and he told me he'd divorce me. So I told him about the methadone clinic and he said that I was just trading one addiction for another,and that I can quit its not that hard. I will usually run out of his pills about 2 weeks before he goes back in, and I almost die!! I'll go to my Dr. for something fake, or Dentist. I'm so sick of it, I feel like the meth. clinic would be the best thing in the world. Anyways sorry I talked your ear off, glad to hear your boyfriends all set, tho I have to admit I'm kinda jealous!!

Im sorry you hubby dosent understand whats its really like and that you CANT just stop ..the meth clinc dose souond like a good option for you do you have insurance im sorry for repeating myself if you have ready said it befor.. Dose he see the pain you go in when you try to stop when you run out of the pills
maybe you shopuld ask him if instead of selling them if he will give u the chance to taper with his next scrip a and try to drop a pill a day and see how that goes if you had to bye then off the street i bet it would get more exspenive then the meth clinic you have to do whats best for you and your famliy and that means being able to function to take care of then- not just what you husban thinks and says you should do !

Well I asked him if he would let me taper off them when he gets them which isnt until next friday. He said MAYBE he'll let me have 30, and I'm like 30??!! ****!!! I'm thinking that maybe I'll just call the meth clinic and my insurance and if they will pay for most of it, I'm just going to start going. If he would rather divore me, which I doubt he really will, than letting me help myself, then fine.
Also I feel like I could start to be honest with him more, and stop Dr. hopping before I get in trouble. I do seem to lie to him a lot and I hate it!!! So Ali, how is 55 mg doing for you? Better I hope. Well hope alls well!!!

I think the best thing you could ever do for yourself is to go to the methadone clinic. Beacuse it really only gets worse from this point. Did you let your husband read the letter I sent to you? Alot of people are so headstrong that they don't want to believe what anyone, dr. or not,has to say. They think if i'm not addicted or have never been addicted to anything, then you shouldn't be either and it doesn't at all work that way, does it? We didn't ask to be addicted to anything. It just slowly grabs ahold of you, and by the time you realize it has taken over your life, it's too late then. But, it really is only going to get worse. You'll eventually start to need more to feel normal, then more, then more, and then you get to the point where you don't get the high from them anymore, they just make you feel like a normal person. Meaning, being able to do the things that everday people do, as far as being able to wake up and not hurt and your mind not going crazy wondering where and when your going to get your next fix. I'm a dr. by no means, i'm just telling you my opinion beause I've been there done that. I know that the methadone clinic has changed our lives, i mean a complete turn around of what it used to be. And everyone says, i don't want you to go the the meth clinic because your going to get addicted to it as well. The way I see it is, i know i'm a drug addict and will be for the rest of my life, no doubt about it, and i'm only 26 yrs. old, so I'm going to be taking some kind of medicine for the rest of my life, so why not something that's going to help me stay clean!!! I'm not saying that you probably won't relapse a time or two when your in the meth clinic, because 75% do, but that's just normal. At some point in your life, whether it's 5 or 10 yrs.down the road, most people are going to have that want, and that want you can't help. But you know what, at least with going to the meth clinic you know that its always gonna be there for you, you don't have to worry about if your going to be able to get anything that day or not, and you never ever have to worry about being "drug sick" again!!! That sounds great, doesn't it? And then, you'll get takehomes just like a dr. writing you a script, that you can take home and don't have to go everyday. The rule is though, is you have to have clean drug screens to get takehomes. If you don't, you'll have to drive down there everyday until you do get clean. But let me tell you this, and you'll probably do it at some point, if you ever try to do any opiates on methadone, you are just wasting your money. It blocks out all opiates, about the only thing you can get high on being on meth is benzos and cocaine. But the whole point of going is to stay clean though, right? Yup got your letters Wrote you back too hopefully i will see you online very soon. I have been a little buzy spending time with the family and i started walking to make sure i dont gain weight while on the meth!
