What is exactly Neurontin for?Im confused.My pyschiatrist persribed it to me today.And he was ambigious about even giving it to me.Its Ironic.Pyshciatrist perscribe meds,but with him hes not cautiously reserved about meds.He seems kind of absent to me.
Never the less I was trying to read up about it.And the internet says its for a million different things leaving me confused.Primarily for shingles.i was told it was for anxiety and depression.All these drugs the FDA approves has got to raise an eye brow like WTF?
At this point IM open to anything if it means improving my deppresion and anxiety.I just dont want to go into to it blind folded.Another thing was all the horrific side effects I read about which I know all meds carry but these side effects seemed so drastic in the way that it would varry making one person have chest pain and a hard time breathing to another person saying that they were halucinating.I really am trying to get help and advice on here>maybe the majority cant relate but when I get one repley which I appreciate by the way dave its discouraging.My problems are no less or more than anyone else on here.Wake the hell up people.By the way dave Im not addicted to opiutes.Im addicted to benzos.And ALthough I am extremlly angry I have good reason to be<But really appreciate your support.
Has anyone been on neurontin for depression or anxiety.DId it helP?ANd what about your side efffects?

I started neurontin during my sub detox...it worked awesome...sometimes in detox we get the creepy crawly feelings and the neurontin helped with that...it is a mood stabilizer...it does help my mood...I am confused though are you simply here for this or are you an addict?? Either way is fine i just dont know why if you are not an addict why he wouldnt he have put you on something like lexapro or paxil or what ever....

i take 900 mg...you have to start slow..first night i took 300 mgs...has to be night because i promise you may feel drunk or dumb.... did this for 4 days ...then i took another 300 in the am...now i take it morning noon and night but i slowly got there....many folks take 3000mgs a day...so 900 is not alot and i dont know what your dr put you on...but i wanted you to see the dosage range...

OHHHH and with the exception of the first week being a little sleepy...i have not had side effects....there may be a few days where you cannot find a word in your head you need or when you are typing that you r hands dont match your words...this is only for 3-4 days til your body adjust...we laugh and call it MORONTIN somettimes but i swear these leave and then your good to go
