Default my hands

I had posted before about the pain I was having in my hands. Well I went to the ortho for my ankle and he checked out my hands also and he feels it is carpal tunnel without doing the nerve testing. Also that bump on the top of my hand is a ganglion cyst. He injected both areas on my left hand ,and so far it has felt so much better. Now I have to have my right hand done but I will wait until the weekend one week as I am right handed and it was quite painful for the first few days. I have to also have the pin in my right ankle removed as it has worked itself out part way and developed bursa? around it. Very simple procedure. Usually a small opening and then they use a screwdriver to back the screw or pin out. Few days of discomfort and I should be back to normal. Yay! We also talked about why I am having these pains in my foot and cramping and tingling in my one toe and he thinks it might be a stress fracture in my foot. He was going to x-ray it but we both forgot. I need to schedule that too. It is nice to know that there is an explaination for at least some of my pain! Thanks for reading. OH and since the injection in my left hand, it hasn't fallen asleep once! YAY!

Wow lizery, you have Carpal Tunnel with the same problems my husband does. His got so bad though, with the cyst adding pressure that he had to have surgery for one of them. He still has some problems with it, but the surgery did get rid of the worst of his pain and he got the strength back in the hand as well.

Isn't it great when you know for sure that there is a valid reason for your pain, and it isn't all just in your head? When my first MRI didn't show a valid reason for the pain I had, I was so upset and worried about what was wrong with me. Later we discovered my sciatic nerve is pinched from the curve of my spine. We can't fix it, but at least I have the peace of mind that I wasn't imagining it all.

I am glad the injections have helped your hand.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~

What injections were you getting? I have carpul tunnel in my left arm from my car accident, the air bags injured my, I had 4 fractures in my hand and one in my arm, after it healead i still had pain so they did a test where they poke you with a whole bunch of needles, they discovered the carpul tunnel, He told me I might end up with arthritus also, anyhow nothing was helping the pain was unreal some days, he ordered me a carpul tunnel splint and that didnt help, he started giving me monthly shots of cortizone, I was skeptical at first I didnt think they would work and the shot itself was so incredibly painful, he said its because they have to get it right in the nerve, anyways the first 2 days after I got the first shot my whole arm was numb and prickly but then to my suprise it started feeling much better, he wont give me any more shots now that I am pregnant, but they worked for me, is cortizone what you got also?

yes it did help. Some days it is worse than others. I don't know how often you are supposed to get the injections but I am hoping to get them next week in my right hand.
