I will probaly have a horrible night, I took my last Lorcet at about 3pm this afternoon, and usually start feeling the withdrawals at about 6 hours later, I dont want to take my Suboxone too early, please any advice, thank you

I'm I friend of Roberts and I live not even 2 miles from him, and he's helped me out a lot when it comes to Opiate detox and Suboxone and Subutex therapy.

Now your doctor has told you to wait 16 or more hours to take your first dose of suboxone. Now actually I think it's best for you to wait until the withdrawals are bad enough that you can't handle them anymore. In my opinion it doesn't matter much how long you wait. If your body is beginning it's main withdrawal stages then go ahead and take a dose. I went to the same doctor Robert went to for Suboxone or Subutex and both Robert and our Doctor has told me the same thing: (Just wait until you can't take it anymore).

I doubt it will cause you to go into acute withdrawals if you're already feeling acute withdrawals. Hope this info helps some. -John

Thank you so much Rock, I am actually not feeling bad right now, I took my last Lorcet at about 3:30pm, so its only been almost 6 hours, you know how they say its mental? Well, i think by me knowing I have the Suboxone, I may not even get that bad that fast, but I'm not sure....I'm just waiting it out though...Could i take some tylenol pm or melatonin for sleeping tonight?? I'm worried i'm gonna have a little bit of a bad night, i get restless arms, not legs, and the sweatin & chills are what normally come on first also.....

Well it's according to how early you usually go to sleep on a normal night. If you go to bed before midnight, then go ahead and try to get some sleep and not think about the withdrawals as much as possible. Now the like you were saying the restless arms and chills and sweating could get to you plus insomnia with it.

If you can't sleep and you end up feeling bad then go ahead and take a dose. Once the effects of the suboxone kicks in, all symptoms of withdrawals will be gone. You will probably get an energy boost for a few hours but the suboxone helped me sleep even when I decided to lay down right after taking a dose. But everyone is different so I recommend waiting to see how it effects you. Some people have said that suboxone can give you trouble sleeping but this was not the case for me.

Don't be scared waiting for the dose. You already have the suboxone so all you've got to do is wait. Once you're in withdrawal and you take your dose the withdrawals should be a thing of the past. (For now)

Remember this from someone who's been on suboxone for the past 2 to 3 months. Try your best to only maintain for a short amount of time. It is very possible to get dependent on Subs and it has a high chance for abuse. Only take the medicine to get you through the hardest withdrawal symptoms and then taper.

I am currently detoxing myself off Suboxone. It's not that bad but it still hurts a little bit. God bless you and I hope you the best of luck. -John

NO WAY that you need three 8mg pills per day. Read the following link hopefulgirl. That is entirely too much medication.

As you can read you are likely taking LOTS more than is is required. Do the induction as recommended in the aforementioned post. And take the beginning doses as recommended in the section titled INDUCTION. That is my recommendation. Let me know how this is going for you. God bless.
