Default Meds Through Airport Screening

What is the best way to get my meds that I don't have a script for past airport security (domestic flight)? Will they scrutinize a bottle of say Oxycontin that's in my carry-on if the pill bottle is unlabled, or is it best to put it in checked luggage or on person? Do you think the average screener would know what narcotic pain medication looks like from say vitamins or such?
For meds I do have a prescription for, is it best to put it in my carry-on?

If I were you, I know metal detectors dont pick them up as far as I know there isnt really any screening for them, I wouldnt even put them in your luggage carry on or not, I would stash them like in your panties or bra, if you were a guy then wear some whitie tighties and put them in a baggie, or you could in fact type a fake script for the pills and tape them to a bottle, Just be real careful though it would be a b i t c h if they caught you, or you could put them in a cigarette package where they wouldnt screen it, I dont know too much about it but I hope my advice helps you in one way or another...take care

I put my loritabs in a tylenol bottle in my carry on. I did that on 4 different flights, and had no problems. It was scary, but I dont think they exactly look for that kind of stuff.

Thanks for the answers, I'm thinking about a trip soon and I'm looking for advice before hand, just to be safe. I would be afraid to put it in checked luggage, because sometimes that gets lost or delayed. Stashed in my pants sounds like the best way to go.

It sure does, thats what I would do if I had to stash something, to me that sounds like valued luggage, ha ha ha and I would be more mad at them if they lost that one item vs my whole luggage....have fun on your trip..
