I have not started Lexapro yet... I start it in the morning. My Doc has decided that 10mg is a good place to start for me... I am in my 30's and have just lost a parent who I have been taking care of for the last 6 years. I am a Married mother of three and they need me to keep going for them and for me... My hubby also has health issues... Everyone has said how much this drug has really helped them. I am worried about one thing... I can handle all of the other side effects... but I don't think I can handle weight gain as one of them... I am already an average size 10! But if they think I have anxiety and depression now... just pack some extra pounds on and see how bad I get... I just don't think I can do that! Help Can any of you tell me what your experiences are?

I started lexapro a month ago and love it...though i have not gained or lost weight....it does kind of surpress your appetite...i almost have to remind myself to eat, and as for the anxiety...it works on the depression and gives you that boost to self motivate HOWEVER my Dr gave me a script for xanax for the nights that the anxiety is bad...perhaps if you need it you can ask the same. Though i am a drug addict therefore my man has to handle all my xanax for me...
I am sorry you are having a hard time...it must be tough to face everyday...but you can do this..and your right your kids need you ...that is what gave me the courage to detox off my pain meds...Give the lexapro a try..i too take 10mgs per day...i get them free as my dr always has samples and my aunt works for a dr..so she gave me a 6 month supply..with lexapro..you can get for free...
