If you are having severe panic attacks xanax is a more effective medication than klonopin. They are both benzos. Klonopin is good for anxiety, but xanax is much faster acting and usually prescribed more for the actual panic attacks.

I am a militant hater of all benzos after being addicted to them for over 25 years. It nearly killed me (literally) when I got off them. You really need to watch it taking these medications. They are designed for very short term use only.

I suggest you work on some other means to relax. Whether it be exercise, biofeedback or any number of relaxation techniques. You're asking for trouble using benzos for much longer than a month or so. Not judging, just telling it like it is. God bless.

I had a friend who had a seizure at work because he took xanax bars daily for 2 months straight, stopped, and the 2nd day he was floppin around. Benzo W/D is no joke. Opiates sure you may WANT to die, but benzos you actually may.

Ive come to realize myself drugs are hardly ever the answer to anything, much less everything I wish you the best of luck in resolving your problem.

kicktime .. you are exactly correct. I also experienced serious seizures, electric shock syndrome, horrid dreams, nasty side effects that can be fatal and nearly were in my case similar to the person you refer to. Benzo detox is a very serious matter. It can make opiate detox appear rather insignificant when at it's worse. This can be truly be a life/death situation. Anytime a person detoxes from opiates it needs to be done on a slow taper while taking anti-convulsant medications like depakote, dilantin or whatever. But this is a very serious situation. I advise being extremely caustious. God bless.
