Unhappy Klonopin And Drastic Weight Loss. Please Help!

I have a 22 year old daughter that I have worried myself sick over for the last 4 years of my life. She has had a xanax addiction and was in a treatment center for that about 4 years ago. Before that she was prescribed paxil and was in treatment for a short period over that. We weathered those storms and thought things were turning around. She worked full time until about 3 weeks ago and started missing work. Now she has not worked for 2 weeks, has no money, is depressed and has managed to lose a tremendouse amount of weight. Her normal weight is about 120 at 5'6". Now she is down to 103 lbs (lost 6 lbs in 7 days). She is taking lexapro and klonopin, smokes marijuana, has taken hydrocodone. I recently went with her to a dr. appt and found out he had also put her on welbutrin. I know she has done cocaine in the past but swears she has not done that. Her emotions are out of control, she has very little to do with her family. She has an appt with a psychiatrist in a month, but I fear that is too far in the future. I don't know what to do. There seem to be a lot of drs giving her meds. Could the klonopin be triggering the weight loss?

I'd say its a mix of the klonopin, and the hydro's(this is the more likely culprit)...That would help triger a rapid weight loss due to low/no want,or need for food...

I really have to agree with MVPT here...I KNOW what depression can lead to as well..Drugs may be a nice mask for awhile(as some may think)...If you can talk her into detox, then a steady program with after care, and meds you can watch her change before your eyes...Lexapro may not be the drug for her,or paxil or even others,it takes time for Dr. to nail down some peoples meds to bring them out of all of this....Take care..
