Default Just One More Time - Drug Addiction

So you finally got some time of being clean under your belt or at least the thought of getting clean has occurred in your head .... be aware that cunning and decieving run deep and the cliffs that you've bravely climb have edges that are steep ... If you find yourself looking over the sides... step back quick .... then run for your life ... Recovery sometimes comes with relapses, but you never know when relaspe might mean your life and if the devil has his way ... he'll get ya to use just one more time to just to take your breath and ... this one more time ... might mean end in death. He'll use all the old tricks that get you to stumble ... There is a war between good and evil ... and you better know how to rumble... don't buy the lie of just one more time or that little voice that whispers in your ear that says c'mon just one for the road, no one will know ... you don't have to tell anybody ... just keep it to yourself ... it will be between you and the walls and they ain't gonna tell ... and if your worried about God knowing what the hell ... the devil and says, "don't listen to God, he don't know what he's talking about" ... beside he's just a party pooper and then he filled you with doubt ... you kicked the door of your addiction open ... You told yourself just one more time... as you stepped inside

Whats your pleasure? ... tell me man, how do you wanna feel ... would like some booze, pot or do you prefer pills ... You looked till you found the powdered substance in the little plastic bag ... it was your favorite out of all the drugs they had ... the host is delited and say's good choice ... How do you do ... do you smoke, snort or shoot ... You reached for the needle ... its what you'd grown fond of if you were to tell the truth.

You put the needle in your vein ... you began to feel the rush ... you thought to yourself "ah yeah... man this is the stuff" your head began to spin, you're feelin' all flush ... Your heart started poundin worse than ever before ... It accurres to you that something ain't right here ...so, you get up and head down the hall towards the door ... your bouncin off the walls and you fall to the floor ... Satan says, Look up ... I got someone I want you to meet ... His name is death and your at his feet ...

Your ears fill with his evil laughter and you manage to utter out the word "please" ... but satan interupts by saying, in hell you'll find no mercy so don't bother making a plead ... you should have listened to that christian god sent to tell you that jesus would set you free ... or to the guy ... you know the one ... that told you about the rehabs and NA thats how he had done it ... you just laughed out loud and made fun of it. "Nope, NA meetings just weren't your style", said Satan with a big smile.

Now look atcha ... you've got no hope ... Your forever lost in torrment all for the sake of dope.

Just one more time might just turn out to be your last time (life is real ... death is real) Drug addiction can kill you ... ultimately that is what people that love you don't want to see happen to you, but when you listen to your addiction and use just one more time this might be the time the last memory your family and friends are left with is of you being zipped up in a body bag and taken away to the morgue.

If you are using ... get help today. Do whatever it takes to get clean. Let nothing stand in your way ... Do sobriety with as much as you put into using and you will succeed. Nothing can stand in the way of that kind of commitment.

Once you get clean ... return the deed by reaching out to those that need to hear how you did it. Swim against the current not with it .. It's to easy to use drugs and cop out of life. Don't take the easy way out ... It's the ones that go the hard route and do a drug-free life that are to be admired. They are the picture of strength ... Listen up ... This is a Kodak Moment ... Get in the picture.

A good story up until the religion kicked in.I'm sorry but I'm an athiest and I don't understand why everyone can't just look at them selves and say "I can do this (not with the help of old superstisions).I would think being drug addicts that most would know that.I really don't see the need for preaching on this forum, isn't that what churches are for or if someone asked for spiritual help........Dave

Ditto mpvt. For some, religion (in the everyday use of the term) is a convenient means of avoiding personal responsibility.

Today, two of the most important "religions" are socialism and psychiatry. Each is based on the principle, proclaimed by their high priests, that human behavior is determined by scientific laws and that individuals have therefore no free will. And each consists of the practice, zealously pursued by their leading practitioners, of systematically depriving individuals of their freedom to make uncoerced choices.

This is what poets and politicians, psychotics and psychiatrists, therapists and theologians have in common: they all deal with metaphors that sustain the dignity and lives of some and destroy those of others; and they all deal with metaphors mendaciously, insisting that metaphorical meaning is literal and that literal meaning is metaphorical. The result of all this is the mystification, the nonsense, and the outright prevarication that make up a large part of the semantic air people in all cultures have always exhaled and then, mistaking it for the pure air of the mountains or oceans, have enthusiastically rebreathed.

With or without religion, you will have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things, but for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Miles and Dave

I used the Devil for Evil as he is supposed to be a liar and a thief and a tempter ... God for light and good ... and christian that came to talk about Jesus to set you free ... a message NA = a message ...

MESSAGE: If you're on drugs ... get off ... if you're clean ... stay that way ... Any time you use it might be your last time. You may not agree with the God and Devil part, but I doubt that you could argue that Life is real and Death is real and if you mess with dope you could very well end up dead. I'm not trying to convert you to believe in God ... I've lost many of people that I care about to dope and if I can reach one person with this writing then it has served a purpose.

Get your boxers out of a bunch and see it for what it is: A MESSAGE ABOUT DRUGS ... Reread the last 3 paragraphs you'll see what I was preaching about.

[u]Why Addiction is a Moral Issue

1. Drug addiction = the state of periodic or chronic intoxication which

a) is detrimental to the individual and to society

b) is produced by the repeated consumption of a drug
(natural or synethetic)

c) and is characterized by:

i) a compulsion to continue taking the drug
by any means

ii) a tendency to increase the dosage

iii) a psychic/somatic dependence on the drug

2. Since ‘Detrimental to X’ either is a moral concept, or its satisfaction implies moral claims, ‘drug addiction’ is a moral concept.

3. Since being disposed to obtain the drug by any means implies that it is not readily available due to legal and moral sanctions, ‘drug addiction’ is a moral concept.

4. Therefore, whether someone’s use of some drug counts as an addiction is a moral issue, not simply a medical one. In particular, this definition assumes that drug addiction is morally bad.

5. And furthermore, the disease model of addiction is incorrect.

As mpvt said, the preaching of morals may be more appropriate on another site.

Yours in personal responsibility,
Miles

There will be people that won't like it because I chose include the Devil and God in my writing. However, the point is it is MY WRITING and I have the freedom to choose how I want to bring forth my message. Dave you may not believe in God and that is your right ... I however do believe in God ... and that is my right.

Despite what you believe or don't believe the message remains the same.

Miles, you are a F-ing loser. I'm always telling you to shut up, and do you listen. Talking about God is way better then posting your shiity thoughts. We talked about you using your time more productive, like a job.(I know its hard being on the sex offender list, it will keep you busy. The last thing you need to be on the internet looking at children and posting your opinions)
Miles, honestly besides being a tool shed, whats your deal. You cant keep doing this. I will report you to your probation officer and you'll go back to the padded room. Your a sad sad pervert, you need help.
