| | I can't stand this My headaches are getting worse everyday. I've taken Vicoden, Ibuprofin, Excedrin Migraine, Topamax, Extra strength Aspirin, Phenegran and Muscle Relaxants but nothing helps.
I wish someone would do me a favor and shoot me before I shoot myself.
I'm even beginning to have panic attacks and I haven't had any for years. I'm taking medications to prevent me from having them though.
Does anyone on here know what else I can take to make this horrible constant pain go away? I know I can handle it much longer. |

| | HL, No, I haven't tried either of those drugs. I did look up the drugs prices to see how much they would cost with my rx plan but they're too expensive for me. I don't know what I'm going to do. I have an appt to see my doctor next Tues. He'll probably act like it's no big deal just like he did the last time I saw him. |

| | Tammy, I've had the headaches for over 6 weeks. My doctor said I have chronic migraines and arthritis in my neck but I have all of the symptoms of TMJ with the exception of my jaw locking. The pain is excruciating so I spend the bigger part of the day popping pills and lying on the couch because I don't feel like doing anything.
I had my doctor call in a refill for my Vicoden this evening but that's a waste of money too because they don't help either. I have a big bottle of Tramadol that a friend of mine gave me but I'm afraid to take any. Have you ever taken them? |

| | Vcamo,You know tramadol(ultram) are so very addictive ,you wouldn't think so ,supposetly they are non-narcotic,thats bs,Ive taken some before but,you know what I got the worst headaches from them.they say when you are on pain meds take them as rx'ed because If you wait for the pain to get bad ,you can take a handful and it won't help!!Try taking the meds before you are hurting, and It might nip it in the bud.also maybe ask the dr, about Vicoprophen, its hydrocodone w/ ibuprophen, which is an anti-inflammatory,which may help more w/ the arthritis, also maybe ask the dr, for samples of the expensive stuff,so you don;t have to spend all that money, but If they work, talk w/ your dr.or pharmacist and they may be able to set it up for the manufacturer to give you a big discount, but,do ask for samples, won't hurt,Good luck,Ill be praying for you,Tamm,,Ps also check out the painkiller addiction board under featured drugs,go to page 296 ,lots of cool people w/ good advice, you'll like it ,Tamm |

| | if u write to the company that makes the drug they will give u a discount, even free possibly! these are the only things that work for my severe migraines other than shots of demerol/phenergan at the emergency room. i am off the percs now, but they only worked for the mild ones. |

| | Ultram is a narcotic, it is classified as a narcotic, its a very week one but it is still one and YES, for some reason it is highly addictive yet I wonder why, I have taken them before and I never got addicted to them And I am an addict if one ever existed!! lol
Of course pretty much all Narotics can be addictive, A LOT depends on the person, Your taking them for pain so I wouldnt worry too muh, If you start to become dependent on them then you should back off, but yes, definatly talk with your dr, you have no insurance? WEll around here we have free clinics for those who need it, is there anything like that around you??
And another idea and I could be way off but it cant hurt to mention it..
My brother in law gets severe migranes as well, He found out he was getting them from his allergies, Hes highly allergic to like cats, dogs, pretty much any pet dander, pollen, the whole bit, anyhow he gets shots now weekly for his aleergies and he said they help immensly with the migranes, and if he still gets one, or a headache, he takes a few xanax and feels better
I hope you find a treatment that works for you!! I can only imagine how miserable that you must be!!
Take Care, keep up posted

| | I'm still having the horrible headaches. I decided not take the Tramadol because of all the side effects. I've tried almost all of the OTC medications but none of them have helped. The Vicoden doesn't help either and neither does the Topamax. The Topamax won't work if you already have a headache and I always have one so I guess they'll never help.
I don't think I have any allergies.
Tammy, My doctor told me I have arthritis in my neck and am having chronic migraines but I think I have TMJ. My jaw, neck and ear hurts and so does the gland under my jawbone. This condition also causes headaches and neck pain. My jaw hasn't locked though.
My eyes burn really bad and I have pain in them. I'm going to my eye doctor tomorrow so hopefully he will be able to figure out what's causing that. |

| | Wow, you poor guy, you need to see a neurologist, I bet your eyes hurting is a symptom right along with your migranes,
Have you been to see one yet??
If not, I strongly suggest it, and soon, if you are having all those problems, theres got to be something more going on then just the typical headache.
How Long has this been going on? with your eyes I mean?

| | My Friend, Your Suffering From Cluster Headaches(from your description). If you don't believe me google it up. i've already researched this problem, there are tons of RX solutions, and there is the illigle one.The illegal one is the medication i researched. A Solution would be D-Lysergic Acid(LSD). The Psychotropic drug is also known for healping stop cluster headaches for a period of time. Research it, not many docters know of Cluster HeadAches. Everyday they get worse, and they run on a cycle. There are stages for the headache, i worry for you because cluster headaches can lead to suicide. |

| | BLACKPOTION: that is true! i learned in psych class that is how they discovered lsd. they were trying to find a migraine cure! but of course u have to be willing to risk arrest, going insane, jumping out of windows, etc. lol. the one time i took it i was actually able to have a headache free night of partying..[ ][:X]hmmm...i don't remember that much though.[?] u know what
VCAMO: have u considered u might have a severe ear or sinus infection? it almost sounds like that? just something to consider...the swollen gland and all and ear pain...u never know! try some sinus meds and see! sometimes my severe migraines sure mimic a severe sinus headache and visa versa and i'll try sinus meds and it will go away and i'll know it was that instead. course you'll need antibiotics too. have ya had a cold? |

| | Take it from someone who knows.Tramadol will sneak up on you like you would not believe. My addiction to hyrdocodone, then tylenol with codeine, and now the tramadol-acetaminophen was due to migraines.Seems like nothing helps for migraines that docs prescribe, which is why I thought I was in heaven when I found the narcotics...But going through the withdrawl is not worth it.And now as I am going through withdrawl,my headache feels almost worse than when I first started taking the pills.Be very careful with Tramadol, and good luck to you!Not sure if anything I said makes sense or helps, just thought I would add my 2 cents. It really does help getting all this off my chest on here.Hope it helps you too. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
