Red face I am going thew detox at home now. So far so good. I guess.

Hi everyone. My name is Shirley I have been taking pain killers since april
2004. When I was in a head on car accident and shattered my knee cap, broke my arm and serverly spraind my ankle. I quit cold turkey in Oct of 2005 and was clean for 8 months when I relapsed I started taking 10 to 12 pills a day anything from darvacet to percacet. I went to my Dr. last monday and asked for help. He put me on 100mg Zoloft, 2mg a day Clonidine for the withdrawls, 6 Vicodin 500mg a day, and Ativan 5mg a day as needed. I will be on that combination for 2 weeks then he said he will lower my vicodin dosage every 2 weeks and keep me on the Clonidine for 1 month after I am off the vicodin. Sunday 9/23/07 will be 4 days. I sleep off and on all day but so far so good. I am not sick and right after I take my vicodin I have enough energy to take care of my family ( pick up around the house and cook and make sure they have clean clothes for work and school. ) But that is about it. If anyone else is going through this or would just like to give support it is welcomed. Also my boyfrind of 2 and a 1/2 years has control of the vicodin. He gives me 6 a day and that is it! I spread those out. Well I could go on and on with my own experience and what I went through and am going through but I'm not going to bore you any more. Thanks for listening.

Thats awesome that you found a protocol that is working for you. You are fortunate to have your man holding your pills...it takes more will power than most have to taper on their own....Kuddos to you and please keep us posted.

Wishing you the best in your journey

Default Thanks

Thanks for the reply. If my man was not holding them then there is no way I would be able to do it. But being behind on all my bills and barrowing money here and there helps too. I really don't have the funds to keep going like I was. How about you did you quit or are you trying to quit? Thanks for talking to me. Even though my boyfriend is helping me he dont do drugs of any kind. It's kinda nice to talk to someone who is going threw or has been through the same thing. You know what I mean? Well thanks again. Trying to get through the day.
