| | Get to a doctor. They can assist you and really help evaluate what's going on. You don't mention if your teenagers are male or female or even the ages. I personally would check with others before relying totally on MY adult childrens remarks (smile).

| | My teens are female 16 and son 15. Their good kids, they are telling me the truth. Alot of things have been happening that I dont remember. And I am always repeating myself because I dont remember telling it the first time. I dont know exactly whats going on but I find myself worrying over things much more. My husband could careless. He is treating me like I dont even mean anything to him. What could cause me to see things, and my memory to be going out on me? Does anyone have any idea's? thanks

| | are you on any medications for the bipolar or anything else? I seem to remember you mentioning something about addiction in a previous post but I can't find it now. Sedatives and narcotics, esp. in large doses or combined w/ alcohol can cause amnesia/blackouts, and people can do some strange things when in these states, including talking to people who aren't there.

| | Thanks Stallion,
Yes I am a addict of downers, like xanx and soma, but normally 2 or 3 weeks out of a month go by and I dont take these drugs because I dont have them. I abuse my scripts. I dont drink at all, I get extreamly bad head aches if I were to drink, so I just dont do it. As for the bi-polar, I only think I have it, it runs in my family. My mother and sister both have it. Also a counsoler once told me he thought I was scitsifrentic ( cant spell ). I do not really know if I have this or not cause I stopped seeing him when he told me that. It scared the heck out of me. I do have severe depression, and also GAD generlized anxiety disorder. Could the 2 of those cause me to see and hear things that arnt real, and then not even remember doing it? Thank you so much for all the advise and input.

| | AS A PERSON I KNOW ABUSES SOMA THE WAY YOU DO AND SHE ALSO HAS THE SAME THINGS HAPPEN TO HER. BLACKOUTS, HALLUCINATING, ETC. THE DRUG IS PRESCRIBED FOR A REASON AND THE ABUSE YOU SAID YOU DO WITH THEM, MAKES IT BAD FOR THE PEOPLE AS MYSELF WHO NEED AND DEPEND ON IT TO STOP MY FIBROMYALGIA FEEL NOT SO AWFUL. THE PERSON I MENTIONED IN THE BEGINNING LOST HER HUSBAND, RESPECT OF HER CHILDREN AND FRIENDS, AND NOW IT'S QUITE HARD FOR ANYONE TO BELIEVE WHAT SHE SAYS. HOPE YOU GET IT WORKED OUT FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR KIDS AS THEY WILL GET TIRED OF IT REAL QUICK. BY THE TIME THEIR 18, THEY'LL BE GONE TO FIND A SOMEWHAT NORMALCY OF A LIFE, IF IT'S NOT TOO LATE. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. |

| I understand many people, inluding myself need soma for their pain. I also have FM so I know all about muscle pains and the every day aches. Being a addict is not by choice. I dont choose to do what I do. If that was the case then I would just simply stop, dont you think? Anyway, thanks for saying good luck, but your post did nothing but make me feel worse than I already do beause you didnt seem to understand that no one is just a addict because they WANT to be.

| | I'M SORRY MY POST WAS SO NEGATIVE FOR YOU, BUT IF YOU TAKE THEM AS DIRECTED (I UNDERSTAND THE NEED TO TAKE MORE AT TIMES) IT WOULD HELP YOU OUT GREATLY. AS YOU MENTIONED YOU REALLY WANT TO ESCAPE FROM ALL THAT HURTS. SWEETY THERE IS NO EASY WAY OUT. IT THERE WAS I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT A LONG TIME AGO. I KNOW THE WAY YOU THINK, I HAVE ALL THESE PILLS AND TAKE THEM RANDOMLY, AND THEN YOU RUN OUT. IT SUCKS TO RUN OUT OF WHAT HELPS YOUR FM PROBLEM. TRY TO NOT TAKE SO MANY AT A TIME. THE DOCTOR WILL CUT YOU OFF AND THEN WHERE WILL YOU BE? I UNDERSTAND TOO WELL ABOUT POPPING PILLS. IT'S LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE. YOU FIGURE YOU SEE ALL OF THOSE PILLS AND THEY WILL LAST YOU, BUT ALAS IT'S JUST TOO TEMPTING. I BELIEVE WHAT YOU'RE GOING THRU IS A MIND THING. YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR CONTOL. I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS ALONG WITH THE FM AND JUST PERHAPS YOU SHOULD SEE A PROFESSIONAL, OR AS I STATED LAST TIME GO TO A GROUP THERAPY, WHERE THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THE SAME BOAT AS YOU. (NARCOTICS ANON.) JUST SOME PEOPLE THAT KNOW WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM. YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH THAT HELPS. GET HELP FOR YOURSELF ONLY IF YOU SINCERELY WANT IT, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T YOU WON'T SUCCEED WITH YOUR PROBLEM. BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT TALKING ABOUT IT WITH REAL PEOPLE PUTS A DIFFERENT SPIN ON THINGS. TAKE CARE DIDN'T MEAN TO OFFEND YOU, JUST TRYING TO HELP. I KNOW, BEEN THERE DONE THAT. GOD BLESS |

| | I was taking xanax and lortab for about 3 years, getting them from street and online sources. I would run out and experience the typical withdrawl symptoms. About 9 months ago I began tapering off slowly as I usually do, but I must have stopped too soon. I began hallucinating, both visual and auditory(seeing and hearing things that were not there). It was like dreams, but I was doing things in real life. My girlfriend would tell me things I had done, sometimes I remembered a dream about it and sometimes I thought she was the crazy one.
This went on for about a week and I went to the hospital(called ambulance to come get me). They did nothing, advised me to enter rehab--which I have no insurance, so I came back home. I began hallucinating worse and worse. I thought people were trying to kill me...I really saw them and heard them. I called the police, they came and looked around and left. I then ended up driving my car to the police station and ran my car up over the grass to the front door. They took me by ambulance to the hospital were I stayed for 2 days with no meds or anything. I still thought people were trying to kill me. A guard was placed at my door(I thought he was there to protect me). After somehow getting to the nurses station and putting a scare into them I was shot up with something. I believe that everyone who came in contact with me thought I was in a crystal meth psychosis, but it was really just benzos and opiates.
I was then transfered by ambulance to a town about an hour away to a detox place($5,000 for a week). I began hallucinating there---I was put into a room with a old friend from high school who told me I got naked and was trying to hit him in the head with my shoe. Eventually I was shot up with something(according to my friend) and put into a padded room. I woke up the next day and it was all over. The hallucinations were gone and I stayed there for about 5 more days.
Now granted I was up to 10-20mgs a day of xanax(yes up to 10 bars a day...not a typo) and lortab 10mg(about 60mg a day)......This was without a doubt the most scared I have ever been. The only thing I take now is Lexapro 20mg a day and I'm doing fine.
Just hope someone reads this and doesnt have to go though what I did. My advice to people who are already there is to find a doctor who is an addiction specialist who can help you ween off drugs the proper way.
