I don't think you're experiencing what is actually called post acute withdrawal symptoms. Typically, that comes after a couple of months of clean time. While 10 days is amazing, and something to be proud of, it isn't nearly long enough to count your chickens. You are through the physical part, but the mental battle has just begun. Any "symptoms" you're feeling right now are your mind making up false pains and discomforts to egg you into taking a pill.

Find an NA meeting, go EVERY day. Work the 12 steps. I promise you that it will make this process 100x easier. I am 5 months clean, and didn't do the 12 steps, but I wish I had.

So happy for you! You are doing a great job. Metal is right in that you are starting the stage where you feel so much better phsyically, but the mental takes right over. All of the reasoning, justifications, excuses, etc. However, the fact that you passed on that pill after the argument is such a good sign. The more of those experiences you can get under your belt, the better.

All of the things you are feeling (anger, rage, upset) are just your emotions straightening out. It's going to take a while, probably a couple of weeks before you feel really level.

    Good luck and keep posting!

    FYour30,

Just read your thread. I used percocets, vicodin, roxys, whatever pain killer I could get my hands on for 12 months straight. I am 34 days opiate free, 13 days suboxone free, and 4 days clonopin/ativan free. My story is out there if you want to read it. So many people on here helped me out even after I kept quitting and using multiple times. I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say "when will I feel NORMAL again." I am asking myself the same thing and always started a new thread because although I am physically fine I feel like I am not emotionally/mentally but I know its my body rejuvenating itself and its my mind coming out of the fog it was in. I believe people on here when they say it is going to get better even though it doesnt feel like it right now. If I can give you any advice I would advise you to just not pickup again. See I got addicted several years ago after surgery and didnt know much about addiction, relapse, withdrawals or pills back then. Around this time last year I got offered some and thought "I wont get addicted" but I did and I used for the next 12 months. I dont mean to scare you but this is something that you are going to have to battle for the rest of your life. Hopefully you never need surgery or a major dental procedure or anything like that where you need to take pills. You are so young bro and you seem like a really smart kid that knows best. Please keep staying sober. I promise you dont want to be in your mid 20s, 30s, 40s battling the same problem and saying "darn, I wish I stopped when I was 18." Keep us updated.
