I have been in pain mgt now for about a year, well this week I stopped my Oxycodone 15 mg 5 days before my next visit! I went cold Turkey and it wasn't so bad. Oh oxy 15s 4x daily, well I go in and ask the nurse (because u never see the real Dr) and tell her I'm ready to start something new because I felt my body was too used to the Oxy 15s. She asked if I've ever been on long acting meds, no, so she cones back with Methadone 10mg daily! I freaked out because I have bad anxiety and new nothing about it except to treat heroin addiction. Well she pushed me out the door with it and I was still nervous, I filled it, btw 60 pills for 7 bucks, anyway got home and took sum. I started my research on here and other places and started reading worse and worse things about it plus sum good! So next morning I called and said no way do I even want to start on it, well u can NEVER talk to anyone except the answering boy or the nurse if your lucky! So that day came and went and the next day I decided to track down the only Dr outta 7 working on Friday! Got to see him, he was a dick, and said ok don't take the Methadone take this patch!(not Fent patch) didn't want to but I took it! Well drive back 40miles to my home and the Pharmacy says its 250 bucks for 4!! So no ins, no money, and I call back to Dr, sorry can't help ya! So I'm stuck for atleast a month with nothing!! I need advise please! I live in NE Ohio, Akron area! Need a Doc and was I right in not even starting Methadone?? Help
