Help Me!!!!! Please!!!!! Hi My name is Katie and I need help My Boyfriend and myself have been using oxycotin for about 2 years now( both me and my Boyfriend do about 5 30mg ones a day) and have been trying to quit. Ive been to Suboxone.com and cant find a doctor near us. Im to scared to talk to my family and only one of my friends knows how bad i am but hes quiting too.
Im only 22 years old and have let college drop out of my life and have been lying to friends and family telling them im sick if i dont have any meds to take to make me feel like myself again. I want my life back!!! Im so sick of finding a way to find oxy everyday and I know if I keep this up one day I wont be able to go back. So im asking for help on what to do and support being that I have no one I can turn to. some please hear my cry for help and help me be able to move on with my life without meds to make me feel like me (Even though I dont know what feeling normal is anymore).

Hi Katie
I sorry your having a hard time right now I was addicted to oxycontin for about 3 years...so I understand how you are feeling...
Are you still going to go the sub route or are you just going to cold turkey it.
When you were on the site was there just not a sub doc close to you...
You can get your life back I did, so if I can you can too..
If you cant find a sub doc Ill find one for you if you need me too...
Just let me know how I can help.
Talk to you soon, Melinda -
Have you tried quitting cold turkey? It's free, doesn't cost anything, you might want to try that first. Don't be afraid to talk to your parents, you need help. -
Katie, Im 22 years old also and I was not doing oxy's but I was addicted to percocets for about 7 months..I know this isnt the extent of your problem but If you cant find a suboxone dr near you then I would suggest going to a regular doctor ar a rehab, it could be very dangerous for you to quit cold turkey.. since you have been addicted for 2 years..I am on day four with no painkillers and I feel good. There is a light at the end of the tunnel..We are so young and have are whole life to look forward to.. I am going to pray for you , and let us know how you are doing.

Percocet The active ingredient in percs.......oxy! -
Diordiamonds It's not "very dangerous to quit cold turkey", no one dies from w/d from opioids (you just feel like you might), CT detox is very safe, thousands of people do it everyday. I don't know why you think it's "dangerous", it's really not.
Thanks for trying to help. -
Hi All
I know a ton of people that quit cold turkey....
You may feel like cr@p for a week, But that's it...
I have also done it a few times myself...
It's not that bad...you just get thru it...
Talk to you all later, Melinda -
easier is not better... As one who tried to make it easier by tapering, and looking into Suboxone, I wasted three months of agonized time, when, if I had listened I could have had the worst of it over in 5 days going c/t. These people know what they are saying...

Good for you! I just want to say good for you! you have already taken the first step to getting help, admitting you have a problem and seeking out ways to fix it. It sounds like you have a lot of people who care about you, if you tell them the truth I bet they will help you, thats a very hard thing to go through on your own the help and support of your family and/or friends could make or break your recovery. Cold Turkey may be the best was to go, at least its the quickest. Be careful quiting with your friend or boyfriend, you'll be in a weak state and if they relapse I would hate to see you go down with them. Think about what is best for you. -
Katie Google the thomas recipe. That would be your best bet Brian. -
Thanks I want to say thanks to everyone who is giving me great advice. I have tried to quit CT before and I made it to day three before I couldnt take it anymore, Thats why I want to find another way to quit!! I want my life back I miss being able to have a great time without having to take something to make me think I was having a good time. Thanks again for all your help. Melinda if you could help me find a Doctor that would be awsome Im just having a really hard time with this. I will keep you all updated with whats going on and I know I will make it, Its time to get my life back!!!

Hi Katie,
I'm sorry you're going through all this. But it's great you've made the decision to get clean and get your life back.
Just want to repeat what many people have already said: going cold turkey off this drug is NOT dangerous. People on this board have different opinions about the best way to quit. For some people, cold turkey is the only way to go. For others, tapering has been better. And lots of people have had success with suboxone. It kind of doesn't matter how you get there: the thing is just to get there and find a way to stay there. If you send me an e-mail through this site, I can see what I can do to find a suboxone doctor for you.
However, it would be much cheaper and less complicated for you to start tapering off the drug and get clean that way. To do that, it sounds as though you'll need someone's help: someone to hold the pills for you so that you don't relapse when you start feeling bad. Because you're probably going to feel at least a little bad at some point, even if you taper. When you're used to getting high, it's hard to tolerate any kind of discomfort, even if it's small.
My main concern about you is that you need support. Your boyfriend is using, and that doesn't make it easier for you. You say you have no one to turn to. Are you sure your family wouldn't be supportive? If you can't count on friends or family, you need to try to find some "real" people to talk with, in addition to us "virtual" people around here. Isolation can be one of the worst things about withdrawal, sometimes even worse than the physical symptoms. Have you looked to see if there are any NA meetings in your area? That could be a great source of support! There are also counselors who specialize in addiction, and I think that could be really helpful too.
Good luck, and please stay in touch with us. You can do this! -

Suboxone.com does not list every doctor that prescribes suboxone. Just call all of the doctors in your area and you will find one that is licensed to prescribe it. Most doctors now a days can prescribe it. Around where I live (Pittsburgh area ) almost every doctor I talked to can prescribe it. Make a few call you will find one.
