On Friday, my low back started hurting (probably from the weather, I am in the Midwest) and now I am dealing with the pain and muscle spasms and I can't stand up straight and so on and so on. I've tried 800mg Ibu., 500mg naproxen, and skelaxin. I have missed 1 and a half day of work so far and I can't miss any more because I just started this job 6 weeks ago. Would it be a good idea to stop suboxone and start a narcotic pain med until this passes and then go back on the suboxone? I can not handle this pain. I am a mom and I work full time, I have football practices that I have to have the little one at and all that good stuff that comes along with being a parent and wife. I would appreciate any one of your opinions or suggestions. I am sure someone out there has been here and done that or knows someone that has. Please respond. Thanks

Hi Audra ... you are in a tough spot.

I sympathize with your situation. I remember when you were online here and going through detox and beginning the suboxone. You were really excited and seemed to be doing very well. Hate that you have hit this roadblock.
I so hate to advise anyone to return to the insanity of RX opiates. Sometimes it becomes necessary to take pain meds, but I would exhaust all other avenues of treatment first. I mean I would try physical therapy, nerve blocks, absolutely everything else first. Don't get discouraged and just automatically jump back off into opiates. You know what it is like. It's kind of like giving up too early at this point I think. There are still too many other options available first.
You know we are here if we can help you. I hope you will talk to an orthopedic surgeon, a pain management dr that doesn't just hand out scripts for pills but uses some of the more progressive treatment methods available, someone who can offer you some constructive ways of dealing with your situation. Don't give up on your recovery. It's too important. Good luck and God bless.
