I have posted before and seen so many replies about quitting and want to quit, but what if you can't I didn't become and addict by chose, I had 2 back surgeries in 2 years and still have a problem b/c I know my body and something still isn't right?? I am on methadone and hydros, also I am on neurontin, cymbalta, vistyril and Klonipin(when needed), I ended up in a phyciatric hospital because I didn't want to be here anymore. I couldn't deal with it. My hydros don't even energize me anymore not like they used to is it because of the methadone or all the other stuff I am on. I am so tired all the time, I have no energy and I can eat about 10 to 12 hydros if my husband wouldn't hide them from me. I just don't know what to do anymore. I hate being addicted and I hate feeling this way. I don't know why I'm posting I just need help and need someone to talk to....Please Help if you have any advice please email kellyalittlesexy@aol.com. Help is really needed.!!!!!!!!

First you have to really want to and be ready to quit. If you are, then slowly tapper down until you dont need them. Trying going down 25% each week. and with you emotions and how you are feeling, try NA meetings. they will really help. i will be here to listen and talk to if you need it.

I answered one of your questions farther down but didn't realize you are on methadone.How long and what dose are you taking methadone????After 6 years you're not going to get a buzz off a weak opiate like hydrocodone,it will just bring you down (dysphoria).The methadone is 50 times stronger than hydrocodone and it also has a very long half life so you don't get the fast buzz that you are looking for.
The methadone molecule is quite large and other opiates like hydrocodone just can't get around it and get into the opiate receptors.So really your wasting your time taking the hydro's.
Why don't you tell your doctor you are addicted to the hydro's and see if he will put you on strait methadone.When you get to the proper blocking dose on methadone then you will have no cravings or withdrawls.
One other thing, benziodiazepines are very dangerous when taken with methadone and you would be much better off not taking them.Good luck....Dave

I'm not trying to be a smartass, Kelly..., but you need REHAB. You would be surprised what they can do for you. Whatever you have to do to get into a program, do it. You need it, bad. Been there myself, I know what I'm talking about. It'll end up being one of the best things you can do for yourself--If youwant to live. God bless you, and take care of you.
