That would be totally counter to who I am and just plain bad manners.
I would attend the meetings with an open mind and a shut mouth. However, if asked a question, I'd answer it truthfully. If someone asked me of my history, I'd probably say I'd abused Ambien in the past and have been clean of it for 10 years running. I'd also share my story of growing up in a house filled with the mentally ill and the impacts it had on my development.
But I digress....
SISTER, How are you feeling today?
NA is not group therapy. It is not the place to share your childhood issues. It is the place to share ones' "experience, strength and hope" about drug addiction and recovery. Personal issues outside of drug addiction are better handled elsewhere, or with a sponsor.
The only requirement for membership in NA is "the desire to stop using." Since you are continuing to use norco - without any desire to stop, I do not believe that it would be appropriate for you to attend "closed meetings" of NA. The closed meetings are those for addicts only. Open meetings are open to the public.
Since you are not there to obtain help to overcome addiction, I would not take the time away from those who are - by discussing your childhood.
When I asked if you had ever attended NA, I was not suggesting you attend. What I was suggesting is that you need to stop offering advice on things you know nothing about, such as recovery from drug addiction. -
although i have been biting my tongue fully, i agree with this artist i do.
peter peter peter, its as if you want to have the experience but dont. i told you already 400 hours of practise is buggar all, ive had 25 years proir experience at addiction, and you cant learn that thru a book matey
you need to back off coz sometimes you come off as being a smart????, when really you know nothing about how it sucks to be an accict. it really does.
norcos, ambien, whatever else, you need to get a grip on what is happening with you before you go tellin everyone else how it is.
i myself know full well my shortcomings, takin drugs etc is a major one, but i never bs about it, its real for me.
you really need to figure out whats goin on in that pharmocological head of yours, coz it comes off fully bs at times ok. -

I will discuss it further with my therapist, whom I meet tomorrow. Anyway, back to "sister", now.
Hoping everyone has a great day, Peter.
