HAVING WD's FROM GENERIC FENT. DNT NO Y, PLS HLP ASAP!!! I am on the brand name drug Duregesic, and Actiq. I gave the Pharm the Rx. a full week in advance. The Pharm said the manufacturer is on back order becasue they don't have what they need to make the drug so I would have to take the generic from sandoz. He showed me on the computer that it said back order...?...
So I was stuck because they didn't tell me until I came in for the med's the day the last set of patchs I was wearing ran out. I was forced to take the generic because although they had the brand name in other strengths,(they had 50's and I take 100's x2 every 48) I would have had to obtain a different script and my Dr. won't be available til 7/12.
I once tried the generic (the one from Sandoz) with very poor results. My Dr. said many patients experienced the same thing. IDK if its the glue that is different or is the gel different, but when I put it on , I began having the worst withdrawl symptoms within 6-8hours. I started taking the actiq every 2 hours to supplement the missing dose and stop the unbearable leg cramps (they get so bad I can't stand up I literally crumple over from the pain), ears are ringing LOUDLY, headaches, stomache crampping, you know, the ususal WD stuff.
If I am forced to suppliment with the actiq to fight off the WD's I'll run out way too early and then what?! Been there, hate that place don't want to go back. However, if these patches keep me in this state of WD's all month I'll tear my hair out and who knows what else. I actually start to hallucinate when this happens and its scarey because I have kids.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THE SANDOZ GENERIC IS DOING THIS TO ME OR IF IT WILL LEVEL OFF AFTER A WEEK OR SO WHILE MY BODY GETS USED TO IT OR SOMETHING? I AM SKEPTICAL ABOUT IT LEVELING OFF HOWEVER BECAUSE IT NEVER WORKED WELL FOR ME IN THE PAST. IDK why I don't absorb this stuff the way I absorb the brand name. Please let me know if you have any experience with this or how to help me with this. THANK YOU ALL MUCH. -

Dear pain person, Sandoz was prescribed to me for over a year, the patches fell off, then they gave me the square solids. I was in constant pain for a year +, it got to the point where I couldn't even get out of bed. Even though my pain doc prescribed duragesic the pharm flipped me the generics, without a doubt, they suck. I finally begged him to DAW and guess what? I can actually stand and work in my yard for 8 hours. It is like night and day. Don't be fooled Sandoz is not the same as the brand and insist on getting it approved. There is a reason why we are in pain, and it's usually not our fault, if you get my drift. I feel like a fog has been lifted from years on that garbage. Fight for your rights, nobody should live a day in the pain I suffered from those fake patches..Signed: Practically painfree and loving life again PS go to the ER and explain whats happening to you. The report will be sent back to your doc and have them call your pharm, and tell your pharm when you need to pick up the next time so you don't get stuck with sandbag, I mean sandoz. -
rustysneakers cynthia is right in that lots of generics don't work the same as name brand, don't care what anyone says. Most of us have experienced something similar in the past. I would also go to the ER. First they will give you a shot most likely and relieve your pain. That will also give you some support/back-up for when you go back to see your dr, which I would do on 7/12 as soon as he is available. You can show him you had to go to the ER and you need a different script for the name brand fentynal. Surely he will prescribe it if you take the generic patches to the dr with you and show him you are not abusing them. Good luck. -

I found a different source online that has been a life saver
